The reason Jordans are so clunky is because Jordan brand intentionally uses stiffer foams because they know people are buying Jordans for style, not performance, and therefore wouldn’t want a plusher foam that would be prone to midsole creasing

@the sole brothers: Why do you always trash all sturdy shoes? The heavy shoes usually five you much more support for your ankles. In today's NBA, the rule is that you need to allow the shooter tonland, meaning the defender's foot is not allowed to be anywhere near the landing area. BUT that is the NBA rule, hence the pros can afford to wear that flyknit lightweight crap. If you play recreational, nobody gives a dam about your landing zone. I've been playing Basketball for 30 years. Wearing heavy shoes like the Reebook Questions, Jordan 8 and 12 and even Air Force 1s (high). The bad twisted ankles happened mostly in thin and light shoes like the Jordan 10 or any flyknit shoe. I played 4 full seasons in Jordan 12s in the late 90s and early 2000s. I only hurt my ankle once in brandnew Jordan 12s. They need time to break in. You even stated: "Don't expect these to break in" On what fact or experience is this statement based ? They look fresh out the box in your clip . Yes they sound and feel as described in your clip but that goes away after a few hours of playing in them. Trust me, I've had a 3 pairs in the past (OGs and Retros) and just bought another pair. Again, almost all leather shoes need to be broken in. What kinda experts are you ? Also the sole will be better after a few games. These shoes are actually pretty good for outdoor courts as well...check out weartester on KZfaq, he actually rates the 12 in the top 3 Jordan's all time ! Only the 11 and 13 receive a higher rating but the 12 has the better protection. BTW I'm a skinny 5.9 guard and I play in "heavy" full leather all shoes all the time...I also used to dunk well into my late 30s...in those shoes. Today at 44 these days are over, not because I can't jump, but rather cos the landing hurts ;-) and I am more worried about other player's feet under me.
