Just a reminder, Dr. Grande isn't speaking to the dead in this video, only speculating what the dead could be saying in a situation like this.

I saw John Edward live once. We waited for a very long time for him to appear on stage. I sat and listened to audience members discussing life episode that they hoped he would "hit on". This intrigued me and we went to see him another time. The exact same thing happened. I believe he either has employees in the audience or listening devices getting stories from people. OR possibly using shills in the audience just like magicians. He may also be using a combo of those methods and cold reading.

My husband had a hard time dealing with his father's death. He started seeing "psychics" who convinced him that the father was communicating through them. At first I didn't say anything as this seemed to give my husband some solace. (I thought it was nuts). Then I learned how much money was being handed over to the psychics. It was a lot. I stopped being silent and started to point out all the flaws in the so-called "readings." It took some time, but my husband no longer pays psychics to talk to dead relatives.

@@Mr.Monster1313 Here's an encounter I had with a "helpful psychic": My cat got out and ran away. I posted on NextDoor info about my missing cat and several neighbors answered that they would keep an eye out for her. One neighbor lady posted, "I see your cat under a deck. She's really scared." And, "she's afraid to come out!" And, "I'm telling her to go home, but she won't leave the deck." I was frustrated because I kept saying, "please can you give me the address?" But no answer. Finally, another neighbor answered, "She's a psychic. She is only getting IMPRESSIONS, not actually seeing your cat crying under a deck." Ugh. NOT helping. I eventually did get my cat back, two weeks later, but it was not from any help from any "psychic," who only stoked my anxiety and got my hopes up for nothing.

You are so funny, loved the gopher reference.. woodchucks and bunnies. You never fail to make me laugh. I think that "psychic mediums" know a lot about behavioral psychology. I knew a friend's mom who did psychic readings, and when I called her out, she revealed some of her methods/skills. For instance, a friend got a reading from her. She looked at his hands, as though looking at his palm lines for "signs". She said, "You are a musician, you play the guitar". He was amazed and was at that point, taken in. This is when the subject's mind glazes over and is now receptive to suggestion. Like hypnosis. She knew he played the guitar because he had callouses on his fingers. No mystery, just keen observation mixed with showman know how. The mind glaze can happen to a large group of people if they believe that they have proof of magical powers.

I love that gopher related fatality and the macaroni scenario. You're really funny, Dr Grande. Like seeing your sense of humour in this analysis and would concur with the underlying sentiment. His "abilities" come at a hefty fee and if you are genuinely trying to help someone, out of your goodness of heart alone, why the price tag? It's interesting there are no guarantees on accuracy. That's handy. If you paid $850 for something, you would surely expect some guarantee. Unfortunately, there are so many vulnerable people, as you point out, who cling on to these psychics, mystics and so on. It's very sad and morally wrong, I agree.

I don’t like the term “psychic” medium. Sounds too….”Woo, woo”!….Yup I get it, so does the term medium! It’s a given that all mediums must have developed psychic abilities; however, not all psychics are mediums. The point of focus for reading (or interpreting) the energy is entirely different. It is important, during a reading NOT to ask questions. Response from the client/sitter should only be “I understand this”, “I don’t understand this”, or “I don’t know”. Evidential mediumship is just that.. the medium relaying information through statements or personality characteristics that are beyond the expected. It may be a shared memory or a very unusual name, occupation, or character/personality trait, to name a few. And yes, surprise, surprise….we do get it wrong on occasion; however, it is most often due to information coming through and how “we” interpret that info. Our logical mind can certainly misinterpret the information based on our own understanding or experience. Giving the information exactly as we receive it is usually most accurate. But you know how we humans are….we just have to manipulate the information in a way that we think makes more sense or sounds better. Every time I do that, I crash and burn! After the reading and the sitter gives me feedback, I think…”Idiot…why didn’t you just shut your rambling mouth and leave the initial statement alone!!!” When the client looks at me like I have a third eye 🤣, that’s when I just need to shut up! We are certainly our own worst enemy sometimes!!! Mediumship is a service, and charging for that service certainly is not ethically inappropriate; however, I feel, when ego takes over and those fees are way beyond what most can actually afford to spend, that, to me, crosses the line into greed. People seek out mediums because they are in grief and just want to know their loved one is ok. However, it is important for people to understand that acceptance of going through the stages of grief is necessary psychologically speaking. It is important that after the passing of a loved one, to take time to try to process through this tragedy. I have seen way too many psychics/mediums playing into their clients grief for monetary gain. If I have a client that is asking for a reading and is initially visually very emotionally distraught,, rather than a reading, I would choose to be a compassionate ear for them and, if need be, refer them to a grief counselor. There are codes of ethics to adhere to in this field of work and to violate those rule/codes can have serious consequences to the client/sitter and the medium, as well. There a reputable and quality psychics and mediums out there. You just have to do your research and be cautious of who you receive services from. If you feel uncomfortable, untrusting, or intimidated in their presence…get up and walk away.

I've been living in the US in various locations for work and I felt I was a fish out of water in terms of the Aussie/ Yank humor situation. I resigned myself to believing we're like chalk n cheese! I'm pretty thrilled to know at least 1 Yank would've remembered we're not actually all that dissimilar and it's good to find the humor in life sometimes! Dr. Grande, you might want to do a "Psychics and Mediums: Reformed" in a future show. Look for Doreen Virtue, a former psychic and medium who is well known and for a long time did group and individual readings, including on radio. I believe in psychic ability 100% because my grandfather truly had the ability, who has now passed on. The readings my grandfather does for random perfect strangers were amazing who were all left at awe. He delivered exact names, dates, ailments and specifics to people he read, unlike psychic who fish for info from the people he reads. People are skeptic of psychics because they have to see to believe and there will always be people like that including Dr. Grande. In fact Dr. Grande makes analysis in every one of his videos not really knowing all the truth but all his videos are speculations of what is probable.

Please do that kid called The Hollywood Medium! Everyone wants to believe him because he’s a young, cute, gay, innocent looking blonde haired blue eyed American. I’ve never bought it. He was doing only celebrities, driving to their residence and wanted the audience to believe that he had no idea who he was going to see, and often still apparently didn’t recognize them as celebrities once he arrived. He often starts by apologizing for not knowing who they are. Claiming that because of his abilities he doesn’t watch much TV. 🙄 I think people bought it because he was only 18 so it (kind of ) made sense that he wouldn’t know certain celebs. I think he’s a quack. Please review him! 🙋‍♀️😎👏

Anybody else immediately think of the South Park episode where they make fun of him? It's called "The Biggest Douche In The Universe", and I highly recommend it. He repeatedly claims that he's special and Stan keeps calling him out and even goes into the concept of cold reading, but stupid people don't seem to understand and they continue to be fooled. It's also funny because Stan goes to John's house to tell him to stop lying to Kyle, and John has a sound effect when he enters the room that goes "Ladies and gentleman, Psychic John Edward" followed by a clap track implying that he's so full of himself that he has speakers installed throughout the house to remind others that he's entered the room and that they should clap for him.

Told her what was taken etc. On Thursday my mom phoned and told me that it actually happened and that she told the police. Who said they can't use that kind of info. 2 years my parents was called in to identify some items as a syndicate of robbers were caught. The registration models and makes of the vehicles used and items recovered were exactly what I saw in my dream. This sort of dream where I see something happened before it does happened a few times over 60 years. I believe i am sensitive perceptive and attuned but not psychic at all. I don't see or hear dead people but I do dream things that later come true. Mostly about my own family seldome about other people. I don’t know about John Edward ( I did used to find his shows entertaining) but I have experienced an unplanned physic reading myself. I went to see a healer because conventional medicine was struggling to contain a chronic illness. It was impossible looking at me to know what was wrong , I identified no s&s or diagnosis before I went to see a spiritual healer recommended to me by the professor in charge of my case. She was elderly, quite poorly herself and worked entirely without payment- she asked you to donate to a charity if you felt inclined but didn’t get involved with money herself. She asked for no information upfront because she maintained that doctors were often wrong, she liked to not be influenced by a diagnosis and worked with different hospitals with different specialities- she wouldn’t have immediately know I was seeing a gastroenterologist therefore. The first time I saw her she asked me to relax whilst she took her hands all around my body (without touching) and she immediately identified pains I was having, that she stated were side effects of medication I was having ( I hadn’t yet discussed those pains with my consultant - it was extremely sharp jabbing pains in my eyes, which turned out to be side effect of large doses of steroids which dissipated when I was able to reduce the steroid dosage, and stop taking them totally after several healing sessions.) She identified where I had had a dvt in my leg 3 years before, told me how many miscarriages I had had and told me ‘you are crying inside because you think you will never be able to have children- but your first child is a little brown haired, brown eyed girl who I can see playing around your feet- however you will be pregnant soon ( I was so ill at that time I literally rolled my eyes ) but I see 2 prams with on only one baby ‘. I took that to mean I would have another miscarriage before I actually successfully birthed a baby. 3 months after I started seeing her, she asked me if I had something to tell her- I didn’t know what she was talking about, but she just smiled and carried on with the session. I found out I was pregnant with twins later that week, but an early scan revealed one wasn’t doing very well and I eventually miscarried one at 12 weeks . I was however blessed to birth my lovely brown haired, brown eyed daughter ( I’m blue-eyed and the healer never met my brown eyed husband.) After seeing her for a few months my health improved beyond all explanation and I was able to get off steroids after 3 yrs of trying. I do however accept that ulcerative colitis is a relapse/remission disease- I never had another attack after seeing her however, despite being told that my disease was all through my large intestine and rectum and was pretty much untreatable- we had been discussing a total colectomy and Ileostomy when the professor suggested seeing the healer as ‘ you have nothing to lose’. The psychic reading was an unexpected thing that happened during my first session, just after she talked to me about what her spirit guide had told me about my health. She told me my grandad was there talking about a ‘donkey jacket’ , to ‘tell them to go ahead’-but that she hadn’t been able to get any more information, as he was quite shy and wouldn’t come forward again. I immediately stated he wasn’t shy to my memory - he had died 15 years before when I was 13 and to me he was funny, gregarious, loads of friends. The healer just said that I was a child when he died ( which I hadn’t said- I was still quite young and my grandfather died quite young unexpectedly from a heart attack) and that I maybe didn’t see his true character at that age. It was only when I rang my parents that they corrected me and said think about it- when did I ever see him outside of his home or garden? I could only think of one time, when my father received an award. Apparently he was extremely shy, unless he knew you really well he wouldn’t say a word and didn’t go out much because he was so awkward with strangers. With my sister and I he was funny, a great story teller- amazing. The ‘donkey jacket’ bit was where they both went very quiet- my mum said my dad who is a total atheist, went white. The night before my visit to the healer, they had been cleaning out a wardrobe in the spare room and discussing the unused. ‘donkey jacket’ ( a type of warm waterproof overcoat used by builders and such like in the winter) that my dad had taken after his father died and kept in the house. They were discussing whether they should give the jacket to my husband who worked outdoors - would his dad approve? This seems like such a small thing, however my dad and grandad were both huge disbelievers in life after death, but they made a pact that whomever died first would attempt to contact the other if at all possible. My dad is very stubborn and very ‘closed’ in his beliefs, so if you believe in this stuff, he would need help to ever receive any message- and it would have to be something obscure like this for my dad to believe it. I can’t tell you what a comfort this has been to my father. It may sound silly to anyone else, but my dad was with his dad when he had the heart attack, and he has always blamed himself for not being able to save him. He went on to become proficient at first aid and taught it for almost 30 years as he never wanted anyone else to feel the same helplessness when confronted from someone seriously ill. I took my cat to see this same healer just before she died as he had been diagnosed with FIV ( this was a new disease back in the 80s- the feline version of HIV. I was told he wouldn’t live long and and there was no treatment). He behaved totally bizarrely in her home before collapsing after she ran her hands over his body- I thought he had had a stroke or died. She reassured me he would sleep a while then be fine. I took him home, and after a few hrs he walked out of his basket and was fine, He lived almost 8 more years to 15 yrs old and never received any treatment. The vets were mystified, as they were seeing more cats with the disease and they were all dying quite quickly . My other cat also caught FIV and died not long after his diagnosis- Mrs Pugh my healer was long passed by then 😢. As for me, my total colitis was never as bad again and I went on to have 3 children- my brown haired brown eyed daughter, and my two blond blue-eyed boys who have a different father. I did have a weird experience many years later when I heard my grandfathers voice very distant say ‘it’s cancer chick’ ( he called my sister and I chick all the time) I was subsequently diagnosed with colon cancer and had a total colectomy. That was 12 years ago. My daughter has now been diagnosed with MS and how I wish Mrs Pugh was still alive! I’m wary of seeking out someone different however, as I DO accept there are a lot of charlatans out there. I became a Christian aged 45 and I’m not totally sure how to feel about spiritual healing now . It’s not something I tend to discussion with my church friends, but I am grateful beyond belief that I was guided towards seeing Mrs Pugh all those years ago. I believe that she changed the course of my life- whether by prophylactic means or whatever, I only know what I have experienced. I’m sorry this was so long!

Thank you very much for sharing. But these psychics deal with familiar spirits, aka Demons, that they refer to as their guides or psychic guides. Once you visit such individuals who have come into covenant with these spirits, whether the person is alive or dead. These spirits have the ability to heal also. But a pact was made without you realizing. I saw a testimony where an ex-witch doctor said that women who cannot get pregnant and go to witch doctors to conceive their children are either: sickly, stubborn or have criminal behaviors or promiscuous etc. My suggestion is that if you have not done it already, as you are now a Christian, seek out a man or woman of God, who specializes in deliverance for both you and your daughter. Just a suggestion. God bless.

Thank you for sharing your good experience with a Psychic, she sounds like a good accurate seerer. I once got a warning for a Psychiatrist about a Health issue in his future. I was in Florida at the time and he was in Ohio. I got on a plane came back, went to his office and told him he needed a medical checkup because I see a heart attack in his future. He reacted very badly raging he was a Medical Doctor and would know if he had a heart problem. Within the year I read a newspaper article that said he had died of a sudden heart attack. In Spirit he has not adjusted to his death. He passed into Spirit in 1985 and since then he has refused to accept his death and shortly after that he came to my house and has refused to leave.

I just went to a John Edward show in Milwaukee. There were abut 800 people in the audience and I was one of about 12 people he read. He asked if I had a horse that was buried on my property, which I did. He asked If I had a male figure who died from Chrones disease, which I did, my brother. He asked "did you not get along with him?" And I hadn't. He asked if he and I had had a financial disagreement just before he died, we did. He said my brother apologized for that, which he should have. He asked if I had recently been doing research on a different sibling. Which I was. He also had for me "two people married twice". My parents were married for 20 years, then divorced for 22 years, then were remarried for 12 yrs before my mom died. I'm actually Stephens wife, we just use one channel. And Stephen has always thought that it's ridiculous for anyone to take John Edward seriously, but seeing as I bought the tickets, he agreed to go with me. After these "hits" Mr. Edward made, his next question to me was "who is the H-E name, like Helen, or He....." and I told him no one. So he says It might be the person sitting behind you. So I handed the mic to the lady behind me, but she didn't have a Helen either. Then he says to that woman "and there's a Stephen connected to the H.E.". *_My Stephen's grandfathers name was Henry!_* Dr. Grande in this video, Randy Sager, and Smithpolly are wrong about what John Edward does. The information John Edward had for not only me, but for the others he "read" was very specific, like being killed by a gopher. His "hit" average was probably 75%. There is no one in the world besides my husband and my dead parents that would know we had buried my horse in the back yard years ago. Stephen was so amazed he wants to get tickets now to see him in Ohio at the end of the month - lol!

On my 32nd birthday I called a "psychic hotline" number just for a lark, to ask what was in my future for the next year. The woman who spoke to me disregarded my lighthearted mood and told me that I would need to urgently travel to visit my father - that he was very ill and didn't want me to know. She recommended that I go visit my father right away. I laughed it off. My father was a very healthy 73 year old living in a different state from me at the time. Six weeks after I spoke with this psychic, my stepmother called me to say that my father was dying of cancer and I needed to come right away. He had been diagnosed with cancer over a year ago but hadn't wanted me to know. My stepmother decided to tell me against my father's wishes so that I could say goodbye. I was on my way the next day but my dad died before I could see him. I wish I had believed what that psychic told me and had visited my father right after my birthday. Instead, I waited and was too late. Sometimes psychics are correct, sometimes they're not. The dilemma is that we can't tell the difference.
