I just started clawhammer and my beagle, Laney, seems to love it. She runs to beat me to my seat so she can get up there and be ready for some banjo time. She stays beside me my entire practice session. Even when I am not going there to practice, if I head toward the practice area, she runs to get her seat there and settles in. She looks so disappointed when I pass her by and say, " no, not practicing right now". Not so much when I was practicing my fiddle, she always tucked her tail and ran the other way. So did everyone else in the house! LOL😂

Not sure about the dog, but you've got me hooked on your banjo playing. That was excellent right hand control keeping time while you played with the dog. That takes good muscle memory from lots of practice .Thank you for sharing with us . frail on.

I definitely saw a smile at one point. But sitting still for a whole four minutes is more than most high-energy dogs can muster. All-in-all, I'd say she liked it!

I think your dog just likes being with you.

I'm sure she likes the banjo, but their hearing is so much better than ours! For her it's possibly four times louder than for us. You can train a dog to respond to your whispers even at a small distance. So imagine hearing something you like but it's at least four times louder than feels comfortable, it'll make you jump out of your seat too :)

My dog is deaf too. No just kidding. Love your playing. Would you play Annie, Heart Thief of the Sea by Kishi Bashi please. A dog's hearing is sensitive and will listen to it from a distance. Our dog, Nightmare, listens to my son playing oboe or clarinet from a distance then returns after.

Pupper doesn't mind the music, but at two points she seems to be apprehensive about something. English isn't my native language so it's hard to explain, but it's kinda where you put that extra volume in after going slow for a bit. She's probably not used to it much yet. I liked it anyway. :)
