This was an interesting watch. I ordered the Prime 1 Ryu, however after much thought, I decided to not to continue with the purchase regardless of it looking very cool. My love of the character comes from Streetfighter 2, and with the Prototypez Ryu, I dont think there is a better representation of this character from that particular release. I saw the 1/3 PCS Ryu in person recently, and I think it looks stunning, however like Prime 1 that is a different Streetfighter, part 5 I think in fact. I put the Prototypez Ryu and the Akuma up for sale just recently, and really cheap too. But ....there is something holding me back from letting this Ryu go, and perhaps that tells me how much I love it. I have a sudden new found love for it again recently, and watching your review, it just reaffirmed that I need to keep it. Amazing sculpt. Nice and simple base. Really accurate game look, great paint. Do not know what I was thinking by selling. I would definitely keep If I were you.

Ryu & Akuma were my favourite characters. I had the 1/4 scale Dark Ryu by PCS last year but ended up cancelling. The Prime1 looks badass, looks like their Goku & Vegeta. Look forward to your review when it comes in 👍🏻

You actually missed one of the best Ryu statues ever. The beast unleashed from Kinetiquettes. But this one, is the best and most definitive Ryu statue ever made. The prime 1 may be cool and detailed, but it didn't really look like him. Looked more like an old man cosplaying as ryu. Looked more like a pissed charlie sheen.

Never got into Street Fighter much on console, played it some on Arcade. Enjoyed other ones, like Eternal Champions, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct and even Virtua Fighter.

For a Street Fighter fan this is an awesome statue....very true to form....as you pointed out the nose is the only questionable aspect of the statue.

DON'T SELL IT! The Prime 1 Ryu statue looks like it's based on Ryu in one of the newer games (SF5 I think). This PrototypeZ Ryu is based on his classic SFII look which and is iconic! We don't really get many that try to replicate the old retro artwork from the old games! I would definitely keep him while still get the Prime 1 piece!

I like the classic portraits better. I dislike the new depictions, but maybe because I like the old school nostalgic look.

X-Treme team sounds better. Mr. X, keep that Ryu statue it has the best of both worlds where Ryu's beat up torso does look like the fighting stance before you start to use the character, also too the second torso is the fighting stance you see before you hit the start button before you choose a fighting character. The new Ryu statue looks nice as if the Ryu you have now is ready to use his Haduken from the new Ryu statue showing his actual power. If you placed them both beside each other in that fighting stance you can see the action in their poses as if they are moving. Cool review. Keep them both.
