Any system can over heat it may be a faulty one that why I get warranty on the I can take it back and replace it but I haven’t had a single problem with over heating with my og ps5 are my slim

I got a ps5 slim yesterday cause thats all that were available. I was playing spiderman remastered for a couple hours and i noticed the back of the ps5 where tye vents and connections are. Were pretty hot and the sides were warm. Is that normal? Would it help to place a small fan next to it? I have it on my desk in a corner it has room inbetween my xbox and speaker but im not sure how much free space it should have

I can't see the setup you got lol but yes it gets warm and yes if the liquid metal has a dry spot it can overheat but it should be fine as long as it's not shutting down the heat is supposed to go out of the vents so your PS5 should be perfectly fine and doing what it's supposed to do only a small amount of people have issues and with any new console that comes out people need to understand only a small percentage will have problems the majority of PS5s work just fine and should last to 7 or 10 years based on the condition so just enjoy your PS5 and only worry if it actually is shutting down or literally melting lol

I don’t know if it’s normal but my ps5 slim heat is insane and I afraid that the LAN wire melt because the hot air comes out the back and it comes out from the LAN and the usb and when I touch the HDMI and the LAN wire i can’t touch it more than 10 seconds because of the heat i don’t know if it’s normal because my ps5 is new and I hadn’t play much (sorry for my bad English)

Well if your PS5 is causing your wire to melt that's definitely not normal lol but PS5 has built in protection so if it overheats it will actually shutdown the system if it's shutting down that's definitely a problem but if it is working and your able to play games you should be fine the vent on the back gets hot because it blows hot air out of the console so I'm not sure how hot yours is getting but if it actually burns you that's a problem if it's just warm it's not a issue and a clear sign of overheating would be a full shutdown but I'd say if your still able to play for hours then it should be fine if your really worried you can contact Sony

Yeah they work really well as long as you take good care of the system it should be fine for years I still have my PS3 super slim still works great

Yes I think I've seen consoles before that get nasty on the inside from people smoking cigarettes I'm not entirely sure if weed would affect it like cigarettes do but just be careful and make sure you clean your console and if you want to make sure the inside is ok you can pop the plates off just gotta be gentle I would recommend you get a dust cover which no matter if you stand your PS5 or lay it horizontal you can find a cheap dust cover just make sure when you power off the system you place the cover on and never leave the cover on when your using the PS5 that's what I would recommend to everyone just wipe off your console from time to time and get a dust cover

Yes it def does can’t even play for more then 4 hours and my game will start glitching and freezing running mad sloppy

That could mean yours is faulty but the majority of people don't have that issue mine barley gets hot so maybe you should look it up or send yours to Sony

Yeah not normal you probably should get it sent to Sony if your able too if it's overheating then something isn't working correctly it also can be dust build up

You can also try plugging it into a different wall socket and removing the plates and clean it out of dust if there is any in the console

Also make sure it's in a open area and it has enough room for air flow that could be another problem if it's in a closed area with not enough space it will have issues
