Thank you for a very wise counsel to your Illini fan listeners. I almost went to Illinois out of high school, but I made the decision an immature kid would make and went to school at a school first recruiting me in the summer (academic recruit not basketball or baseball, but I thought I would play at the smaller school). It was the beginning of a lot of immature decisions. Around age 21, I finally had some perspective on who I was and the integrity and character I wanted to be my decisions. I thought Sky Clark made an immature, selfish decision to leave his team and teammates mid-season; however, I did similar things, letting a lot of people down, people who had supported me were disappointed. GIVE THIS KID A BREAK, AS HE NOW DISPLAYS CHARACTER AND MATURITY HE DID NOT. HAVE AT 18. He was on a much higher stage than a kid from an Illinois town of 750 people. I disappointed 750 people; he a lot more. You own what you chose to do; through the grace of God and your true friends, you find a path to a life the Apostle Paul calls “More than Conquerors.” I live in California; I hope UCLa loses to Illinois. But I will cheer for the return of Sky Clark.

Wonderfully said Keith! I’m in a similar boat. I wasn’t mature enough at 18 and was actually in serious academic trouble. Who am I to hate on this kid?

Amen on the Illini future. My best friend at Pepperdine was an Illinois graduate (bachelors, masters, & doctorate), but he passed away in his sleep a few years back. I would love to celebrate with my friend’s son the first NCAA championship for the Illini in basketball. Shoot, at 78, I can’t Waite much longer! :)

Carefully thought-out logic here from Sunny Verma, starting at 4:30 and going for the next few minutes, on why we should be okay with Sky (including letting "bygones be bygones"), but, in the end, why it is perfectly okay to boo him, when he returns to Champaign this season in our game against UCLA. Not excessively mind you, but rather just like we should boo any such former player or coach, except for maybe Coleman, since, in his case, it might be fun to pull that thing where we all act like no one even noticed he came back. Thanks Sunny! We will all practice our booing to get ready for Sky.

So called "experts" id like to say.. no.ome knows how good or bad teams will be its all on paper.. but in my expert opinion im good with the Illini being not in the top 25 because honestly we do not know what out team will look like.

I’m far from an expert but I’d have us borderline top 25 at the start of the season with potential to finish around top 15 if everything works out.
