Stardoll needs to hire a team from the first generation of players since they are all grown ups, they would do a better job since they know the site perfectly and they know all the things that went wrong with this site, I believe they would do a great job bringing this site to life.

I tried to play it again like 2y ago and i wasn't the same as before, i felt that it was so empty, like i was alone in there. The amout of players decreasing just made me feel like it. But I still tried to play since I have had a lot of accounts and I just loved this game for a long, long, LONG time. I think that I started playing it, since 2010 and my sister and friends used to play it too. Ah I miss these days lol

I spent so much money on stardoll when I was in middle school. I obsessed over decorating my suite, getting covergirl and royalty, and collecting rare clothes. There was a lot of drama in the big clubs and on the stardoll blogs. And then one day, I discovered the Sims. I was over stardoll and never logged back in.

I've had my account for 12 years, and I still use it to this day! A lot has changed on this site, stardollars are triple the price they used to be and there are less options for earning them, you can now just buy royalty membership but it is £80.99... in that you get 7000 stardollars, royalty status and a few free gifts.. to buy stardollars now is really disappointing, £30 gets you 3000 stardollars which is absolutely absurd. people sell items in the starbazaar for 600 dollars an item, everything that were sold on the site before 2015 is considered rare and there are lots and lots of scalpers on there. I miss the OG stardoll days when there were no site makeovers and it were simple! I very vividly remember people setting their dolls to look like babies or toddlers and would ask people to adopt them whilst they would speak and act like little babies on there, I think during my entire time on SD that is the weirdest thing I've came across. However, I don't think I could bare to part with star doll! I have used it for so long and have some good memories on there, I really do hope they revive it as even I can admit that the site is dying and there's so many inactive users on there now and barely anyone chats unless its to hound you to buy from your wardrobe! I remember my last few years in Stardoll were spent roleplaying in the chat parties. I had two different accounts I would log in different browsers, they were a gay couple named Charles and Daniel. My strategy was to dress up Charles to be really cute and attractive, and Daniel to look kinda normal and unremarkable. Daniel would stay quiet for the whole party while Charles talked to people, until someone, usuall a girl, tried to flirt with Charles. Daniel would then come in, screaming in all caps, "GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY MAN" and just start a horrible fight in the party for all to watch. I swear, I did this probably fifty to sixty times, it was my main source of fun after I came home from school. It always played out like this. Sometimes the girls would apologize and we would become friends, sometimes they would lash out and fight back. My favorite times were when they were homophobic and everyone just started arguing about gay rights, for a couple that never existed LMAO Yes, I didn't have a lot of IRL friends.

I looked up this video because I was OBSESSED with Stardoll as a preteen... absolutely obsessed. Growing up I never had internet until I turned 14, and when we finally got internet, a whole new world was introduced to me!!! I only knew of Stardoll because of friends at school who played it. I had my account (HK14) for YEARS I think starting around 2010-2012. My parents knew I was obsessed with it so occasionally they'd buy me Royalty status. I was so active on the website that I had a pretty successful Bazarr store, Magazine (wasn't this just a journaling feature? LOL but i updated my "magazine" weekly and it got some popularity with other users!) And was obsessed with shopping and decorating my suite and avatar. OMG SOOOO many memories that I miss!!! If stardoll was still similar as how it used to be then I would still be playing it. I miss it :(

2016 was the last year that Stardoll was actually somewhat enjoyable to play... But for the past few years the website has been dead. Parties are empty except for some foreign servers (usually Turkey) There hasn't been any new features added in YEARS, apart from the usual clothing and decor releases. I fear that the website will be shut down in the near future. The only thing that's keeping Stardoll alive are their diehard loyal members who are still willing to pay a monthly fee to keep their royalty memberships. I've been a member since 2012, I login once a year to make sure my account isn't disabled from inactivity because this game was my happy place from the ages of 8 to 10. But every year I login to find that nothing has changed :(

Good video! I miss the the time when the website was busy and full of active members. I have my current account since 2010, but after around 2017-8 the website was becoming unbearably slow for me, parties (which was one of my favorite features) started dying and around the time the team was working on creating the launcher and for almost 2 years there were no new items coming into plaza (besides the recycled archive items, that significantly lower the value of the clothes I have collected over many years, making them worthless). The launcher is still slow for me (I have a Mac), but a bit better than it was just before Flash rollout and there are again more new items coming to plaza. But given all the circumstances + the fact that I am a busy adult now and don’t also have as much free time then when I was a teenager I don’t play this as I used to back in the “old days”. It’s a pity. I still visit sometimes, so you can visit me there under NKAW :)

-In advance sorry for my bad english- I used to play stardoll in 2009, i always remember the pink one -before the makeover-, i remember it as a site where you can spent hours and hours without realizeing how much time have passed, because of the multiple things to do, from making your own paperdoll to decor interiors, customize albums, create designs based in basic shapes. I think the game lost its charm when hair design was added, in that time there were multiple cheats -multi accounts to vote, corruption in the design charts, even the catwalk (where you voted outfits was removed because of the cheats)-. I also remember a desesperate way to earn more money from stardoll, when they added the option to platinum, that was a turqoise username color change, you needed to buy 1 year membership to rotalty and then another year to get platinum -that was available only for a week or two- Another thing tat made the game go to ruin was the currency, i mean 1 month superstar gives you 60 stardollars back in 2009 were the price range of clothes was 10 as expensive(excluding limited brands such as young hollywood, antidote, limited edition (50-300 sds per cloth)) , in 2019 -the last time i played the 1 month suscription still gives you 60 stardollars when the average cloth prize was 20-30. The covergirl prize since the release of the covergirl contest was 25 stardollars, and still 25 stardollars. The celebrities paperdolls, the main essence of the site ended arround 2010 I think Nicki Minaj 2 was one of the last paperdolls released, everything in the site was focused on release of limited edition clothes -the expensive ones- a new low quality collection every two or one week. The social feacture of stardoll was what made the site still alive, i played like 8 years just because of the friends i had made i still in touch with a few ones from spain and germany -im form Uruguay-. I also remember the comunity making facebooks with the dollies name, with the username as a name and stardoll as a surname to have a better chat, seling clothes, making campaigns, etc. I do remember as a 12 years old to talk to older people in the site, when i was 13 i used to chat with a woman that was 35 years old at the time. The stranger thing that happened to me was the year i left the game, that year i win several prizes without participating, such as stardoll mile -the one where they digitalize a art you made- and i was semifinalist of MSW (Miss Stardoll World) without trying. In the social way i just remember creepy dudes that used to try to get intimate with girls, the darkside of an uncontrolled child-teenagers enviroment. Its a pity how a great innocent idea ended in just the need for geting more money, that killed stardoll and the need for fame of the users -not just the stardoll staff had the guilty at least for me- Thanks for bring some memories back to me♥

I know it's impossible to cover all the Stardoll drama in one video but I remember very vividly seeing a user called CherryDaBoo altering their own Stardoll by removing the eyes, the lips, the nose and even using unatural skin colors like red and purple... They were using a proxy to do that. It was both strange and disturbing. Stardoll prohibited the use of proxies because of that user alone 😂

I played stardoll from 2008, I was about 10 years old at the time, trying to make some new friends as I would struggle achieving that in school at that age. I played for years before they even redid the site up to what it semi looks like now. During the years that I played, I remember being in the animal lovers club - money was easier to make when you were on the free membership and thrived playing the dress up games. I really enjoyed the party chats, I have some real fond memories on making some online mates from that site, that I use to talk to nonstop and became friends off the website. I remember having your dolls dating and the trend of making 'boobs' using clear hair. After awhile, I spent so much money on the website that never seem to last. This was when royalty was more popular and taking over than the superstar membership. There were definitely downsides to it though, as there was still bullying and harassment online! I remember being spoken to by someone through a private chatbox trying to initiate sex. Bad things aside, stardoll was a stable part of my childhood and teen years, there is more fond memories over bad ones :)

Dude i'm glad i looked up if anyone has made content this recent on stardoll. Personally i think a lot of the user base has moved on to other things like sims 4 and the stupid amount of free content/mod in that community, comparing to this money sucking site. I have had the launcher working on windows, and only keeping my account since 2010 a log in each year since 2018? to keep it barely non-terminated. I have been playing on it the past month so i'll give u a sort summary to the best of my current knowledge: Clothing wise some store has been slow and probably havent got new stuffs since 18 since i can still see the items at the few mid-last pages. As someone said in the comments already, the archive and SD bringing back old items decreases a lot of the rare items' values. There are still new tribute collections and limited collections, seems like they are still on trend quite a bit. The majority of the users ive seen had been among europeans and middle eastern countries. Most money spend in game i can see are more towards wig designs and just original creation with the hair design feature. Very few active clubs left, ones i've seen are clubs for campaigns and wig designers. One of the last running blog with game spoiler content that i could find was in latin/mexican. Underneath stardoll the blog was abandoned, so as a lot of the US based blogs. I guess it had something to do with the launcher not compatible with mac os users since it's the more used in the US. It was kinda funny somehow there's a Lilnasx account that gone quite viral, the rest of the dolls currently have HEAVY designer hair layers, if you know TS4 it's like looking at an alpha sim lol. Tbh i'm just back for the nostalgia (as Zin07), that site inspired me deeply as a young creative to pursue art and design and i am in the field now. Kinda sad to see the site slowly fade to oblivion, but as you said, have hope that it'll rise again right? Great video btw!

I have been an adult member on Stardoll since 2011 and always been happy with the game. It has evolved all the time with new inventions in a universe of beauty. But you have to be active every day and pay a small penny to get access to the whole game and keep your SD- friends. I use PC and the app works great on it. It is true that they do not have a customer service that you can contact but there is the possibility to write to them. In addition, you do not need to contact customer service for things that you can fix on your own. Don't give up on Stardoll. That's wonderful! 💖💖💖💖

ive had my stardoll acc since 2010 (i made it when i was like 8) and i try to keep my acc active so i dont loose the 14 years of shit i own on there but its soo empty nowadays it feels like im playing w no purpose and im so scared that one of these days the website will just shut down out of nowhere and i will loose a HUGE part of my childhood; so many of us have put alot of time and literal physical money into the game its crazy how the company that owns stardoll doesnt take care of it. Stardoll couldve had a resurgance the same way club penguin did back in 2019-2020 but it didnt happen bc stardoll is empty and not taken care of :(

One of my critiques is that along the years, the game had implemented tasks and achievements to work for, like the Stardoll Academy, which was a fun and intriguing way to keep the players invested, but once you complete those tasks, that's it, and there's nothing else to work for other than the daily tasks that keep cycling every two days and become boring very quickly. I would love for more challenges to be implemented so there's always something to work for. Of course, there are many things wrong with this site but I still log into my account occasionally to see how everything's holding up.

I literally still have my doll, my first account i think i did it when i was 10 years old, im 25 now T-T, i really would love to still play it if they updated their stuff to more current things. Roblox is a thing for a reason, young generations love to play with a character. There is soo much oportunity for kids who dream to get into fashion or design and even, giving their work visibility. I thought a great idea to add for the make up section is to let the users have more freedom with it instead of only allowing the makeup be used in certain parts (like eyeliners and eyeshadows), also would be so cool to have an option to add a digital tablet to your play session to be able to draw the makeups with more presition or be able to design clothing with their own creations with a little ''painting'' section where the person can select brush/color/design instead of only allowing to use random geometrical figures, bringing the voting to covergirl back but it will be more creative, interesting, interactive, and kids wont necessarily have to expose themselves while maybe experimenting with either design/fashion/make up (as is usual with normal social media, where those hobbies often put pressure on them to having to show their faces and exposing themselves to exterior harms) Like, there is a bunch of oportunity over there to make $$ and have a bunch of people happy, but they are just sleeping

I hadn't attempted to enter the site for nearly a month. But as of today, attempts to enter are unsuccessful, resulting in a 'crash' which is followed by a 'crash report' which you need to fill out and send. Daze's analysis was first rate and synchs with my own suspicions that a once lively and creative site may be coming to its demise. But I agree that it worth rescuing. I'd love to se what SD could do with it, with input from some of the legion of members who made its reputation so much fun over the years..

Been around since Paperdoll Heaven days in 2005 before you could even make accounts! I remember the rebranding to Stardoll and making my first account. I spent my pocket money every month to be a Superstar, but as I grew up I phased out of it by 2011. I would log back in every now and then, but they deleted my account about four years ago. I was so devastated lol. I had so many OG HotBuys and some rare pieces from the DKNY Fall 2007 collection. It really sucks that my childhood was just wiped from the internet like that. I had so many journal entries that I will never be able to access again. End of an era, I guess.

great vid! the game is clearly dying. i log back in occasionally to check in, but it's super depressing. the parties are almost always empty. spotlight was kind of a big thing, but that declined a lot. the starblog is largely inactive, and there hasn't been any major update to the site since i first stopped playing in 2016. the only way to have fun in the game is to run for comps (which is a lot of energy for something with no incentive/isn't guaranteed), dress up your doll, or design. however, all three cost a lot of money that people aren't willing to fork over. all in all, the game sucks so hard now. my doll is LLC! send me a friend req

I remember vividly watching Big Time Rush on TV one day after school while doing homework; I was just getting to the age where club penguin was too childish for me & out of no where, I see a commercial for Stardoll. To this day, my brother will bring up how much money I spent of my parents/grandparents money, it's ridiculous. Stardoll 100% started my online game purchase addiction: What you forgot about the diamond tier is that if you are actively a member for 365 days you received the diamond tier. Also, if your account is 10+ years active, you get a specific badge. Because every now & then I will log in to check my old account, find old friends, etc. I noticed a new badge by my account since its about 14+ years old.

stardoll 2019 - 2022 "pay or you can't play!!". being a paid member was sutch a toxic thing back in 2009-2011 and now everything is more or less paid memebers only/pay for stardollars or you can't buy decore/ clothes. i login 2 times a year to keep my acc but the game are stuck in time and has so meny code problems in it :C

Partys haven’t been deleted but there’s hardly ever anyone hosting them nowadays. Also to attain royalty it’s not 365 days membership. They’ve changed it so it costs £80 something pence to get the ‘royalty’ symbol but this comes with just 7000SD and 1 MONTHS membership
