One of my patients (I'm an internist) came in for a visit during which time he related that he was scheduled for cataract surgery in 3 weeks. This was a new complaint from a patient I had treated for over 20 years and it didn't sound right as this developed within an 8-week period between office visits. After examining him, I found his blood sugar was much higher than ever (just under 200) and there was spill-over in his urine. I immediately instituted a 'crash' program of chromium and vanadium. Within a week, his blood sugar had dropped significantly but more astounding was that the 'cataract' in one eye had completely disappeared while the other one reduced by 50% (he had visited his ophthalmologist the day before). By the date of his scheduled surgery, he had no signs of a 'cataract' in either eye and he remained free of 'cataracts' at least until I retired about 5 years later.

We have to end this nightmare I have sugar in my eyes.

Is washing the eye with sugar solution harmful?? What about combining sugar with salt and washing the eye with its solution? What if the salt solution is highly concentrated and I wash my eyes with it, does it cause damage to the eye? Thank you
