Taehyung has a natural talent for dance. Son Sung-deuk said so; in 2015 he said he had no worries about Taehyung's abilities, that he was a natural talent, and that he learned dance routines immediately and without fault. Taehyung really didn't lose anything from missing out on 'lessons', SSD was the best teacher; he's the man who made BTS who they became, not BangPD. And if you watch back through the history of BTS appearances at award shows and important festivals Taehyung was so often used as centre for special choreographies. Taehyung is called the ' rookies textbook', and is chosen as the Idol of Idols by other Idols for a reason. 💜

@@Suilebheinn I am not questioning V’s ability to dance. He would not have debuted if he couldn’t meet the minimum dance standards. The main focus of my comment was why BigHit may have paid for JK to get dance lessons and not V. Only JK was sent to the US. BangPD and the Artist development team stated they sent the person with the most potential. Since Jhope and Jimin already had years of dance training, they didn’t need to send them. Of the members left, the ones with the most potential was JK and V. JK was going to be the main vocal and center. It made sense if you can only send one person due to limited funds, JK was going to be chosen. That is nothing against V. I used the example of Jimin not getting vocal lessons. BigHit had limited funds and chose to spend them on JK and V. Just like V learned to dance, Jimin learned to sing without one on one instruction prior to debut. SSD is a good teacher but he is not a dance instructor. He is a choreographer. The reason Jhope and Jimin are better dancers than most K-pop Idols is because they had foundational dance instruction. Most Idols don’t get that training. They are taught how to dance the choreography. When you look at Jhope, you can see he understands the movement and becomes the dance. Jimin is the same way. The difference between Jhope and Jimin is that Jhope is a better technical dance. His moves are exactly the way the choreographer expects the move to be made every single time. Jhope is the best in the business with hip hop dancing. No one comes close. Jimin is a dance that incorporates many dance and martial arts into the choreography. He does it smoothly and effortlessly. This is why no one can dance exactly like Jimin. He also becomes the dance. When you look at V, you can tell he is a talented dancer but he lacks some basic skills. Watch any choreography where all four are doing the same dance moves. V, while talented is not on the same level as JK. JK is not on the same level as Jhope and Jimin. If the dance calls for hip hop Jhope is better. If the dance calls for contemporary, modern, or any flair, Jimin is better. This is also why you see the 3Js performing the most complex, difficult and fastest moves in the choreography. If you look back at any time BTS has to demonstrate choreography, it is usually Jhope or Jimin. If a member is meeting a new group and talking about choreography, it is usually Jhope or Jimin. If a member is having difficulty with a move, they usually go to Jhope or Jimin. If you watch any dance choreographer reacting to BTS dance, they always talk about Jhope or Jimin being the best. This doesn’t mean the other members are not talented, it is just Jhope and Jimin are the best of the best. Taehyung is great at facial expressions. This is where he is held in high esteem.

@@Suilebheinn I'm sorry but his profile on the Hybe website refers to Taehyung and Jin as sub-vocalists. And Taehyung is also not in the dance line. All this might change if and when all the new contracts are active. I think chorographers realize he is one of the best dancers and I've heard him praised for it, but he is not an official member of the dance line. I am talking here about his contractual titles. Taehyung is a great dancer and as a singer he is very flexible with at least a 5 octave range. He has improved in both and then improved again and again but I'm not sure what this means in contractual terms. Please don't feel bad for him. He knows himself well and excels at most things.
