Iwas amazed that Lindsay Buckingham from Fleetwood Mack was using Mesa Rectifiers live he got the sound he wanted which is cool all about how u pick and musical style. 🤘🎸✨️

Thanks for the english videos, Silas! Selling my Mesa Dual Rec is one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. Idk if I'll ever have $2,000 dollars to play with ever again with the economy the way it is now.

Hi, for me the presence control is really important for a tight respose, I usually set it to 2 or 2-30 , bass at 3, mids at 2 and treble at 11-30. These settings are somewhere between the traditionnal sound of modern mode and the vintage mode.🤘

You make some really good points that I am going to try on my own Dual Rectifier. The one thing I can’t seem to figure out on killing the mud is on tremolo picked rhythms which tend to wash out with white noise on this amp over others. Settings that make the amp tight for chugging or staccato type picking don’t seem to work for fast picked rhythms.

I think the best way to get the sound you really like, is to know exactly what you want and how you have to adjust your amp. I totally agree that you have to chose the right components, the kind of guitar and pickups and the way you play guitar. Personally I'm using my own made picks (2mm thick bronze and titanium), to hit the strings really hard and I love the sounds I get from these. For very fast riffs I use titanium because it's lighter and easier to play. The bronze pick is more brutal but a lot heavier, so I play this for slow and heavy brutal sounding riffs. I love to play baritone, so I have already a higher output of the pickups (in most cases) that is pushing the amp harder. Find the right picks for your music that you play and that you like. To try out other things can bring you further and possibly you find something new that's good for you. Strings could have an effect, but it is not that much, if you already have the right set on your guitar. It's more a matter of taste. Other types or string sets can give you a other kind of flavor of the tones. I still use effect pedals and I love it, but I personally try to use these in the context for the song or music part as a support for a song. And at least, the gain knop is working in two directions and adjusting the tone knobs or equalizer is a good option to get heard in a band context. I often have to remind myself if my guitar sound gets muddy. 😅🤘

My guitar player has been using a 77 Les Paul custom with original T. top pick ups, a 1999 racktifier sovtek glass a 1991 Marshall cab with super broken in T 75s no boost and it absolutely crushes. You just have to be a proficient guitar player.

No.... for tons of stuff its great. A boost just gives you more options.

It takes an Eric Peterson to make a rec sound tight without a boost.. me personally.. I don't have this level of rhythm picking hand so.. I like to cheat and boost XD
