Does The Mercedes E-Class Still Set The Standard?

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has spanned over seven decades. Since its inception, the E-Class has set the standard of innovation, performance with luxury. From the iconic W120 "Ponton" of the 1950s to the cutting-edge technology of today’s models, the E-Class has continuously set the benchmark for executive sedans.
With the release of thier newest model, does the E-Class still set the standard?

Does anyone believe current Mercedes models are still going to be on the road 20 or 30 years from now? I expect they will be mechanically totalled in less than 15 years.

Tell me which cars in today's world last 30years? Even today put side by side a 20 years old Mercedes with 200k and Any Japanese car with the age and mileage the Mercedes would still look stronger Beautiful all around than any of them. I have 2010 C300 with 225k and when I put it beside its so called Japanese competitor- Lexus es300 or Is300 anycould easily see that the the Lexus is completely beat up inside and out. Lexus body structure and interior can't hold more that 10 years

You have been very optimistic. Most of the new cars can last 5-7 years until guaranteed milage lasts

@@kofiarthur3749 there’s no point in talking about your thirteen year old Mercedes and suggesting that’s indicative of how a current model will fare. Nor is there any point in your personal opinion, based on a sample of one, on how a Mercedes compares to a Lexus. You’re not exactly unbiased, are you? Your conclusion is completely contradictory to market research. There’s a KZfaq channel run by a former Mercedes tech. He’s struggling to keep his C63 running even after a complete engine out rebuild. So there’s a single sample that contradicts your glowing report. Now imagine all these problems applied to batteries and all their supporting systems at Mercedes parts and service prices. Mechanically totalled well before 20 years.

Everything is about maintance. Maintance service from factory is not enoug for longetivity. From my perspective is w211 better car than w123 or w124 in every way. And still running after 20 years.

I recently bought a W211 as a second Mercedes and I find it has a certain feel that the newer one doesn’t. I love them both, but there’s just something about the E-class that calls to me if I don’t drive it for a few days.

Had a 1996 W210 and now i'm driving a 2002 W211 since a few years. I mean these are expensive cars to maintain. Proper spare parts are expensive. And especially in a wet area with snow and salted roads in the winter rust can be tricky, when you see it from the outside it's probably too late already. But when you know a good mechanic and you're willing to spend the money these can be very enjoyable cars which don't let you down.

When they start calling it E class is when things start going downwards...the 123s and the 124s till 1990 are the pinnacle. Luxury german TANKS ❤

@@dragospahontu yeah, chrysler still uses e class derivates for ther charger / challanger line up. Benz get bad habbits like getting engines from renault. look the S class chair buttons, still same w140 this is stagnation.

If you want a cheap car which will just get you to work and back home a Mercedes is certainly the wrong car. It's a car for people who enjoy driving Mercedes and are willing to spend the necessary money.

Japanese cars are overly hyped in America. I think it's because america and Japan dislike unionized labour.
