"Anti-Catholic" -- that brings up a childhood memory for me. In the late 1970s, our family got involved for a while with the Seventh-Day Adventists, who taught that the Pope wears a ring with the Latin inscription, "VICARIVS FILII DEI" -- the vicar of the son of God(?) -- which adds up to 666 in Roman numerals (if you ignore the placement rules). No idea how true any of it is, but it does make an important point: the easiest way to identify a Christian is that they go around telling other people they're not Christians.

The fish hat sounds like a redit "r/ExplainLikeImCalvin" post. Here are a few more from ELIC 1) The pope, unlike a normal human, has a very special connection with jesus. This connection can only be made with long, stringy antennae. His hat keeps the antennae warm so they can communicate with jesus 2) You see, Catholic headwear stacks, like those nesting dolls. You start with a small skullcap as a regular priest, and as you move up in the church, you get a bigger hat that goes on top of the previous one. If you take off the Pope's hat, you'll find his old Cardinal's hat underneath, and so on. 3) Clearly he's a unicorn duh!

One point to make here about dagan that Dan laid out pretty well. The point here has less to do with gods than it has to do with the exploration of "the gods" in literature. The sumerians had a pretty much encapsulated belief system for a period of time when the Ubaid culture was nestled up against the persian gulf. As the eneolithic unfolded they needed to trade, but the bronze age also coincides with Sumerian civilization, which begins in Uruk. The hallmarks of trade can be sees in the Jemdet Nasr culture up the Tigris, which is a likely trade route for tin bronze. Along the iranian plateau there was trade in more exotic minerals. Bronze metallurgy was necessary for survival, but also neccesary for capturing slaves and expanding territory, but more importantly of all, keeping trade routes open. In the predynastic period though it seems the western interest was cedar, the huge cedar trees in steep terrain bordering the mediterranean were highly valued. To get those trees one needed to get them into tributaries that flowed to the Euphrates, an engineering task all to itself. Where as one can truck out bagged or man per man, you cant really do the sane with 20 ton ceder trunks. A whole lot of things need to be set up. And so Sumer was expanding, or at least trying to expand its trading institutions northwestward up the Euphrates. This required building colonies, the first large colony, we don't know its name, was abandoned, shurrupak was attacked . . .things did not go well. My opinion is that Sumer thought the Middle Euphratean peoples were second class (Think Israel versus Gaza) and so their identity and gods did not mean much to them. There is in fact a poem denigrating the Mar.Tu in much the same way the homeless are denigrated. Following the great flood it became neccesary to understand the Euphrates and it people better and the Sumerians begin identifying other people. The first we see is Hit, then Anah. The abandoned city was restored as Mari, the kings grew in power, they conquered many cities between the Euphrates and the mediterranean. In other places they made deals. So lets go through these cities and talk about their gods. Hit (Hēt), Is, Tutul (akkad-Sumer) is an Iraqi town along the Euphrates. "In ancient times, the area around Hit was very fertile and was used for agriculture. During the Early Dynastic Period the Sumerians discovered bitumen wells in the region, which they used in building the Ziggurats." So we have to make a distinction of peoples and names. The people of Hit are called amorites, but that may just indicate who controlled the region, the overlords. This region appears to be remnants of Halaf culture. The high god of the Mar.tu was Amurru It is from these correspondences between the amorite overlords and the sumerians that were documented much later that we get: "This is the first name which is known for this city. Its importance was attested by Sargon himself, who said that the god Dagon gave him the area which comprised Tutul and Mari, capital of the Amorites. There is also an inscription by Naram-Sin which mentions Tutul, as one of the cities bequeathed to him by Dagon." And so the Amorites, from the west probably saw this as a annexed territory. Dagan is kind of a father god, like Anu, but a fertility god. As Dan correctly state the god emerges from history and may have extrasemetic origins. The goddess of Ebla seems at some point to be a relative, daughter or wife of dagan.

Sir.. I must say that I respect your research and opinions and mostly I will agree with them as I reflect during my time of study with your videos playing regarding any particular subject in question. And as a former theological minister who specialised in esoteric and theological principles regarding the current interpretation of the canonical scriptures and their inspirational and supportive manuscript text from different cultures (as we both are aware..) The data may not show direct connection and modern academia does not support such pseudo hypotheses that do not have circumstantial data pointing to a plausible explanation of our ancestral past however, it does not dismiss any previous cultures or belief systems regarding their origin. This would mean, We cannot dismiss any geological, megalithic, archaeological findings or data that points to many tribal groups and early civilisations who have recorded the help of halfish half human people who came to help them via the air or the sea. This documented data cannot be refuted, unless we attribute these documentations as the figment of the early civilisations imagination whom I may add is responsible for most of our modern societal growth over the last 13,000 years such as schools, irrigation, animal husbandry and astronomy. But hey. What the heck do I know eh? Just sayin. One love from Jamaica.
