I've been using a leaf blower for a while on my car. It pushes water out of the nooks and crannies and dries it well enough to follow up with an express wax. I prefer it over exhausting myself and using towels.

I have this exact blower. I use it mostly to dry off my car & other cars I wash & I agree with you on it not working well on paint that isn't in the best condition or still has surface contaminates but on vehicles that still have a decent layer of wax or sealant on it, it blows the water off no problem. The size and weight don't bother me just like the noise doesn't bother me but my hearing is bad anyways from working around jets in the Air Force. Overall, I think it's a great blower in aiding with drying off vehicles.

I have used a similar blower . Just a few more notes to add Pro You can still use it as a leaf blower for the house . Important point since you can make the wife pay with home budget and not use your detailing product budget to purchase :) Now there is a few cons to this product One of the biggest con that I have found is that it does not dry the car completely which becomes a bit of an issue if you are working outside and it is somewhat hot, by the time you come around to do a final dry with a towel the panel may already be dry because of the sun / weather which will leave you with water spots which are a pain to take out. Another con is the set up , you need a big extension cord and you need to work around the car with it plugged in , and then you have to put it all away. I have found using a good drying towel to actually be faster and less of a pain than setting up the blower. Another big con is that it is a blower at the end of the day and it takes a lot of electricity to dry a car, if you are doing 3 or more cars like myself a week , it will add up on your monthly bill quickly . I think this product would be great if it was cordless and it had a good battery , there are products that meet this criteria but they are pretty damn expensive. This is the type of product you have in your arsenal but you just do not bother using it all the time, the "convenience" is not really a " convenience" .

You are right, the big boi pro is also not great at clearing water from the average car surface ie. Paintwork which hasn’t been corrected. One thing I do want to know is whether this machine could do as good a job as the big bio pro at blowing out a cars interior - carpets, seats etc. it was fantastic for this and I miss it a lot!

They leave paw prints at a minimum, but lately, I have been getting scratches on the roof and hood of F150 and Explorer. I think what happens is when we let the dogs out at night, the cats gets startled and bolt off the vehicle, leaving scratch marks. Please help.

Can anyone school me on what I did wrong ? Did tires first. I got my car wet and then I did the gilmour foam gun all over the car. Let it sit for about a minute (washed it inside my garage so no sun and it’s not hot today) then rinsed it. Then went over it again with the foam gun and microfiber mitt from top to bottom. Then used my Worx leaf blower to dry the car a bit and as I was using the iron remover and then bead maker I noticed water marks on my hood ? Is it because I had no protection on the paint prior to today so the water didn’t slide off the car which caused this ???

I bought a new B & D 11 amp blower yesterday and washed my car early in the A.M. For being my first time it did fantastic, the water droplets that were left over I did with a small mf towel. Faster, it wasn't, but more efficient removing water from roof, inside door panels and trunk. Well worth it's cost to me. Better yet, I minimized the chances of scratching the paint.

@calvinwong365

i don't think so for the filter. Dallas Paint Correction actually already covered this product before. It's actually really good machine. But like Oscar stated, this only really works if your car paint is smooth and clean. If your paint is very contaminated, rough and bumps. The water won't move. I purchased this two years ago and returned back to amazon to test it out.

Got the WORX WG520 yesterday October 14, 2022, and used it today Oct. 15, and does a mediocre job. Washed my car today and using the WORX WG520 made water beads very small and plentiful. Took me 20 minutes to blow dry my new 2022 Honda Civic Touring, built on September 2022 (date of mfg on the driver door side) and received from a Honda dealership on October 4, 2022, with 2 miles. I bought the blower to avoid getting watermarks or streaks. It does blow leaves very well, but not so good for drying a car. I duct-taped a microfiber cloth around the plastic tip so an accidental touch on the car paint would not leave a scratch. The WORX WG520 is very light, the air intake will suck your tee shirt when close to it. I think suction is better than it blows. The Ryobi 730 CFM 40V Blower could be better because it has 130 CFM more than the WORX WG520 600 CFM. For $55 plus add sales tax, you are better off spending $90 to $120 for a much better product. You get what you pay for! The WORX WG521 is said to be 800 CFM you could try it. WORX WG520 not recommended as a car dryer. Plan on getting a battery-powered unit because dragging around an electrical cord is a nuisance and you don't have to worry about becoming electrocuted after washing your car. Safety First!

Oscar if it works for you then that’s a good thing. @Mistah lol... battery powered is not reliable? That’s funny you say that I have had the same one since 2015 and it has never failed me and saved me a ton of time. Hence why most pro detailers and weekend warriors use it over cord. What are you basing your facts on? Hoe many battery powered blowers have you owned and used? What if his generator fails and he has no way to plug something in?

@mistahpahkah5876 5 жыл бұрын
So I have the same blower you have and I have a corded BD. The battery power isn’t consistent, even with the large battery. When it’s about 50 degrees outside forget about it. For Oscar, if his generator fails, just gotta kick it old school and hand dry.

What Oscar is saying is true. If your car paint is not aleast claybar. This machine does literally nothing. The only spots Ill use it on is rims and maybe door jams. Holding this machine up above even a small car will cause shoulder pain for you in the long run. It got like 600 cfm. That's a lot of power. So if you detailing any car in a small garage. Good luck with this. You going to be pulling the electrical wire against the tires and then its going to snag the paint. The leaf blower might even hit the paint. I got this two years ago from amazon and returned it after scott from dallas paint talked about this. Great machine just not good tool for detailer

Most people use MF towels and a drag/pat method. I wouldn't use a squeegee as I don't want to introduce more spider webbing into the paint. The blower is for a contactless method. It works really well for show cars/really well maintained paint where you want to avoid contact as much as you can. I prefer an air compressor for getting water out of crevices but I get why people go for this method on well maintained paint especially.
