@@nicholasvetranoCorbin came up relatively late. He's got an okay peak and is sitting under 18 JAWS and WAR by bWAR and and fWAR, which isn't cutting it nor is it even on pace. He's really gotta stretch out his career if he wants a chance.

@@SolixTanaka I have a feeling that pitchers of the 2020s and beyond are going to have to be judged differently, after the retirement of scherzer, Kershaw, Verlander and Greinke who do we see as HOF of the next generation. We aren’t going to this longevity for the foreseeable future deGrom and Sale lack innings, Cole was probably on pace but how does he recover from this injury, Wheeler doesn’t really feel like a HOF pitcher as much as I love him, it’s just going to be so hard to know going forward so I feel Burnes may have a decent chance
@SolixTanaka29 күн бұрын
@@nicholasvetrano I agree that it'll be a different convo for the longevity of these guys in the league now, but the voting environment has been incredibly slow to change. I feel like some of the best guys of this generation are going to get snubbed as guinea pigs despite putting up what we consider "great numbers" for this era. We'll just have to see what's it store, but if I were a betting man, I couldn't put my chips on Corbin. I do hope he makes it in, tho.

Definitely not guaranteed, especially as a reliever. Still lags behind Wagner in a handful of categories and even Wagner is facing some resistance. I think Kimbrel makes it eventually, but he's still gotta put up some solid seasons for the counting stats to be in the ballpark of "guaranteed."
