I thought it would really bother me but the placement of it isn’t bad. It didn’t end up bothering me much at all.

Nice video, also great job of comparing them blade to blade. So many people compare them handle to blade, and then say “the blade is smaller” when the blade is actually the same size or bigger, it just has a smaller handle.

Love my Shootout. Super lightweight, very easy to actuate, great tanto CruWear blade. 10 out of 10 in my book. I had read a few reviews of people saying they had problems with the knife not deploying or retracting properly but I have not had a single issue with mine.

Glass breakers have other uses than breaking glass,which I am sure your well aware.Which I think is there main use.I like the cruwear.15 yrd penality in my state though.Good review.

Would Heat, for example, if yo leav the knife in the Car, during Summer, affect the Plastic??

I enjoy my shootout. I just don’t like that I can hear the spring firing unlike the microtech. If they eventually come out with an aluminum handle the sound would go away.

It is what it was meant to be. I don't carry mine much. I love it when I'm wearing sweats or something, very light. Cuts most stuff pretty well. You could do worse. I like it very much when it fits the day:) most of the time I carry my hawk deadlock if otf is the plan then it's usually a second knife behind a fixed blade. If I'm packing the shootout it's a weight thing and it's all alone. So yeah, if you want/need a really light full sized otf try one out

@@diezelvh4133 two...a 22 aluminum darkmatter fatcarbon with satin blade and hardware and a 23 ti frame with ti inlays and magnacut blade. Today I'm carrying the darkmatter paired with a gg hawk colab Buck Marksman.

Big advantage is that this auto OTF knife is not scary looking... It looks like a typical , utilitarian pocket knife. Compare this to the MicroTechs which looks very "sketchy" looking . Like your some Jason Bourne spook /assasin. Would you rather be pulled over by the cops carrying the Shootout or the very tactical looking MicroTechs , ProTechs

I like Benchmade and their willingness here to obtain some of the marketplace by offering a lower cost OTF in CPM Cruware.

I think it’s a good move overall but they’re up against aluminum bodies and established brands at only a slightly higher price point. That’s why I think unless they drop the price by about $25 they won’t necessarily get the market share they want.

I just can't get past the plastic toy sound every time he touches it. You can hear it, it sound cheapo. Should of made it from aluminum. Or at least an aluminum center frame and then grivory scales. Or better yet G10 scales. JMO.

Benchmade is hot garbage, i do not respect them in the slightest. And the shootout is no exception. 🤮 Thanks for the video regardless!!

Some of their stuff is. Some of it isn’t. I’m not such a fan of the Shootout or the Weekender, although I like the Shootout more out of those two recent releases.
