Have been seeing a VA Psychiatrist for 2 years now and medications have been increasing for diagnosed anxiety and depression, symptoms continue to get worse. Is this enough proof to put in a claim for a service connection disability?

It sounds like it, given you have on medical record your two years of treatment. If you file, can you connect it to your time in service? If there is no record, you'll need to get a nexus letter. I know many vets get depression/ptsd but never mentioned it while in service, but, don't get help until after and with no record during their time in the military.

this doesn't answer are they separate ratings though. for example, 70 for ptsd and 50 for anxiety

@@scurraverum7932 yes but if you have anxiety, ptsd and insomnia- you will have a higher rating than if it was just anxiety...

@@bodirockbeats This is why you can't stack ratings for depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Pyramiding: The VA prevents assigning multiple ratings for the same symptoms under different conditions to avoid overcompensation. Depression, anxiety, and PTSD often share symptoms like sleep disturbances, irritability, and social withdrawal. Single Combined Rating: Instead of separate ratings for each condition, the VA combines them into one rating that reflects the overall level of impairment. This ensures fair compensation without duplication. For Example:A veteran with PTSD and depression will receive a single rating based on the total impact of all symptoms, rather than separate ratings for each diagnosis. 38 CFR § 4.14 "Subpart A - General Policy in Rating." www.benefits.va.gov/warms/docs/regs/38CFR/BOOKC/PART4/s4-14.pdf Hope this helps.

I have PTSD,& Have Depression,and take Medication for it.( DAV.VET,🇺🇸 ),,,Sleep Apnea,just getting 50%only for Tinnitis,since 1974 OK.

Hopefully your meds manage it for you. If it has worsened then an increase may be possible.

@@Veterans_Lawyer Yes it has since 2010 OK Still going to virtual appts.Since the pandemic down since 2020,my next one coming up in AUGUST 17,2022,my last one was MAY 10,2022,besides,Types 1Diabetes, 💤 Sleep Apnea,High Cholesterol,High BLOOD PRESSURE,& Heart ❤️ Problem,plus taking Tramadol Pain 💊 Pills,.I take 9 different Medications OK ( @a USAF🇺🇸 VET. OK,)
