Wow, that's crazy. Good thing you figured that out before you for into a situation where you would need to make a right turn. My street glide would pinch my wiring harness and eventually it broke the wires. That's another problem people won't realize unless they are practicing. Great video brother!

2022 Road Glide Limited. Very similar to how mine is. The large wiring harness runs down the right side of the frame and the right side fork tube smashes into it at full right lock. I've managed to rearrange the bundle of wires and brake lines somewhat to make it better, but it pushes on them somewhat. Same with the clutch cable.

When showing the tightened cable it is on the right side of steering neck. I have not seen a clutch cable cross from left side lever to the right side of a bike. Which of course means it must travel back to the left.

Good catch. I checked my 2016 Ultra Limited and the clutch hose was out of it's clip and was getting pinched between the fork and frame on the right side. There is also some more lines and electical bundles running through there that were causing clearance issue's. I repostioned them and now it goes to full stop. Thanks for sharing with us!

I am not yet capable of 18 ft turns but I checked my '20 SGS and found that my clutch line was causing the problem you described. But my mechanic said it is a major pain to re-blead the clutch. So I will make do for a while. Thanks for letting us know about it.

My '22 Street Glide Special fairing contacts the tank at full lock to the right, not to the left. I stuck a thin rubber bumper on the tank to avoid direct contact.

Not on my 2018 Road King because it has a hydraulic clutch however in lowering the standard handlebars to bring them closer to me I noticed that if you are not careful it's possible on full lock to have the bars hit the speedometer cowling if you have them set too low. So if anyone else out there is thinking of doing this make sure you check lock to lock clearance before tightening the handlebar clamps and as always make sure all your cables and wiring are not being put under tension.

Just checked my 2023 Street Glide Special. Yup. Clutch cable is in the way. I was wondering why I had no issues turning left in the two spots but could not for the life of me get the right turn down. I was able to move it out of the way a little but it goes back to the same spot.

So, after getting the Joker up on the lift. I carefuly managed the wires and cables on the right side. after that it turns out the main wire harness bundle captured in the cable housing/support cover on the right side of the neck still contacts the fork at full lock, putting slight pressure on the bundle before it comes to lock. looks like a factory problem for sure. 2014 FLHTK

Hopefully they will get it fixed easily when you take it in for service. I'd also visually check all that wiring for pinch points or wires being stretched making those turns. That could be a recipe for a broken wire or in the case of a pinched wire, a short to ground which can fry components or even cause a fire depending on where it is located and wired in.

Great discovery Bob, thank you. Can you please also talk about the rear swingarm alignment, related to the motor/tranny combo alignment to the frame, causing wobble, at either slow or high speed. There are some nice aftermarket swingarm bushings as well as adjustable motor stabilizers. Keep up the good work, cheers.

Hi Robert I am going to guess this is an easy fix. I’m guessing you’ve got 12 inch bars on your bike and I’m going to guess that someone didn’t put the clutch extension on your bike because it sounds like it’s the clutch cable that is keeping you from making right hand turns. You’ll need a clutch cable extension and your buddy John promotes fat baggers clutch extension.
