I'm not saying you have to go hunt it down, but I read one right before replying to you, and was surprised bc I'd never seen someonr say that before. There are also a lot of people implying it by saying like "I'd never lose my dog" or "if he loved his dogso much, he wouldn't have let it get loose," implying that your dog getting out is something you can always control and if you don't, you must be a bad dog owner/didn't try hard enough. My dog got lost once playing following another dog on a bike path. I was frantic, ran all the way back to the beginning of the path ,which was pretty far for me to run. There she was, she had crawled under a chain link fence and was so frightened. She would never walk there after that. She always kept near me after that and always kept me in sight. We were together over 17 years, and I can't tell you how much I loved that dog.

My husband was in the Army for 24 years. Our English Bulldog got to the point that every time he pulled out his bags and suitcases, she would whine, cry and pout. She wouldn't even look at him for the final hours before he'd leave because she'd be so mad at him for leaving her. The first week after he'd leave, she'd sit by the front door waiting for him to come home. It was heartbreaking! She'd sleep at the foot of the bed, lifting her head at the slightest sound, waiting for him all night long. She'd hear his voice on the phone and start whining the most awful cry. Every time upon his return, she'd act like this and wouldn't let him out of her sight even to go to the store. It would take weeks to get her back to normal. Fur babies (and of course my family) are the best part of my life. Thank you for sharing this sweet video. Welcome home sweet puppers!

@the gaming- Twinz You do know that every breed of dog has a different life span right? For example, English Bulldogs live on average only 8-10 years if lucky. Sure, there are exceptions to the rule, but that IS their "expected" lifespan. Some breeds live longer than others but to say all dogs live 16 years, is ignorant of animals in general! 😂

I saw another vid just like this, make me wondery how dogs could recognize their owner/friend by smelling them? Are they have special thing in their nose?
@itsNukeY
@itsNukeY 3 жыл бұрын
@@KHJ4D I’ve read that a dog’s nose is roughly 10,000-100,000x more acute than ours, so you can just about imagine how much more they can smell. Apparently, “for every scent receptor a human has, a dog has about 50”. So that absolutely explains why and how they recognise their owners simply by scent. Adding to that, we all have a unique scent anyway!
@WINDSORTOWNSAV
@WINDSORTOWNSAV 3 жыл бұрын
@@itsNukeY For one thing, they possess up to 300 million olfactory receptors in their noses, compared to about six million in us. And the part of a dog's brain that is devoted to analyzing smells is, proportionally speaking, 40 times greater than ours. Dogs' noses also function quite differently than our own.

A great reunion, great story. I went on vacation almost immediately after moving, no furniture even put away or arranged. Friends took care of my cats while I was gone, which extended a week longer than expected. When they came in, one of the cats went out, unbeknownst to them. She was in a strange area, no access back in, I'm gone and she's fending for herself. I never saw her again and grieved for her for a long time, not knowing what happened to my cat. I still have a hole in my heart. This puppy was obviously happy to see his dad and I'm sure Dad was happy to have him back too. Pets are family.

This is why it pisses me off when people say, "it's just a dog". If that was the case then the dog wouldn't show any emotions.

right? i don't even get people reacting this happy to see me and humans are supposedly the ones with souls and emotions right? If that is the logic some clowns want to use then why are humans held up so high when this 'just a dog' shows more joy for you after being away from you just going outside for a few minutes than any human will show you?

I remember reading this story- apparently for the three years she was in the shelter, she was incredibly sad and reserved. The shelter workers had never seen her happy, or excited, and she rarely even gave so much as a tail wag. But then her dad found her- and she was so happy, and the workers were so amazed at seeing her so happy and excited- because they had never seen her like that before. It’s a truly beautiful story- and her dad had been looking for her the entire time, there was just miscommunication and bad timing, which was why she was in the shelter for so long.

Wischmopps Actually, yes I did. She died of cancer when I was 11. She’d been sick for 3 years before she passed. So yes, I “lost” my mom when I was 9, when the drugs in the 1970s took over her mind. Yes, it was VERY difficult, but I made it on my own and it made me strong. I had to learn to be my own caretaker.
