Dear AL, according to the GSD standard, GSDs cannot be white, they are not accepted.

They are the same. The dogs don't care about some standard written by humans with jealousy problems.

@@CliveWallace-bx7rg Dog do develop some characteristics as the breed goes on with their evolution. That being due to human o nature’s influence. The SSD has been bred to have a more gentle temperament. There are still some physical differences between them.

@@Arivmario would you please list all those physical differences you refer to. Have owned both types for over thirty years and still haven't seen any differences. By the way my current Black and Tan is way more friendly towards strangers than my White.

@@CliveWallace-bx7rg While the GSD is typically tan and black, liver, all white, all black or bicolor, the SWSD is only white. At the creation of the breed, all colors were accepted. It was in the first decades of the 20th century that the WGSD exemplars began to be excluded in Europe. The SWSD was recognized by The Kennel Club in 10/2017 but it is generally accepted it was developed from the WGSD white strain of the breed and there is an obvious similarity. SWSD combine beauty and brains they have similar appearance of a GSD without the strong temperament. They’re more suitable for new owners or people who want the look of a working dog without putting the time a working dog requires. That makes the SWSD more suitable for therapy or service dog.

I have a 3 year old white German Shepard and there is white hair every were in my house! I watch a channel of a groomer called girl with dogs that calls them German shedders! lol

It's actually the other way round. A Swiss White Shepherd is just a German Shepherd that's white.

The leg problem was because some rich person wanted to make the German shepherd's smaller, so the smaller back legs are a deformation of some sorts. A proper German shepherd should have 4 legs of equal length and a straight back not curved/lower at the back.

they are not the same. according to the AKC, GSD cant be white as its not a standard. the WSS however only has a pure white coat as its standard on the UKC, FCIPR/FCI and any other KC.

Absolute gob shite. You have no idea what you're talking about. Been involved with the white GSDs in Australia for over 10 years and they are a superior dog to your average show line GSD. Much more athletic and healthier with perfectly normal hearing and hips. In fact it's much more common for these dogs here to live 12 plus years than the average show line B and T show line with their sloped backs and weak character

What a load of total rubbish your dribbling out there. I have both Black and Tan and pure White German Shepherd Dogs and let me assure you the differences between them are 100% political, not genetic.

The white Swiss shepherd is intelligent and very loyal, strong and obedient I have 2, a male and female, I will not swap them for any other Anything you are saying is total bs

i dont need you to reassure me, i have worked with real shepherds at the highest levels in more than one country inc some of the best clubs in Germany and have been inside a protection suit being bitten more times than you have eaten breakfast and i have never worked a single white shepherd at any time as no one actually works them ! ​ please point me to a video where a white german shepherd (or one of these so called swiss shepherds) is competing in a real working trial or doing even basic tracking, agility, protection and bite work ? never mind any form of advanced tracking and protection work, most are scared of their own shadows, most of them are very defence driven by nature and live life on the edge between attacking to scare someone away and running away from any threat they perceive, they are not nearly as stable temperaments as the gsd, but then again neither are the majority of show bred gsd's when compared to a working strain (dont confuse outward aggression and intimidation with being strong dogs- i have only ever seen one white one back it up and that was in a familiar training scenario ) most have temperament problems etc which is why the country of their origin banned them from breeding and destroyed them to stop poor genetics ruining the gsd, which is a working breed, early breeders obviously raised those early white pups and found them wanting ! comparing a white shepherd with a show bred shepherd is like comparing horse shit with rocking horse shit, they are both.......and neither one will actually protect you and die to do so in a genuine tight spot but they will alert the whole neighbourhood with the barking as they run away sounding aggressive
