In Germany we call hoomans and doggos who love to be in the water a "Wasserratte" - a "water rat". So, Daisy is a water rat! (That's nothing bad!!!) Or she's a "Seehund" (sea-dog which means seal).

Love seeing them in the pool. We took Mo and Treble on vacation to the Outerbanks NC purposely because they have dog friendly beaches, dog friendly bays and the B&B we stayed let dogs in their pool. I bought a cabana with screens for shade, the whole trip was for them and all they wanted to do was go back to the B&B to be in the AC. Next time we'll leave them with Charlie and they can play inside together, lol

We had standard poodles for some years & they, too, have webbed feet. They're used for water rescues in some parts of the world. They have Portuguese water dogs in their breed & generally love water. However, given that we don't have a pool & our current dogs don't appear to enjoy kiddie pools, they don't get water time. Except for our Choc Labrador Retriever who appears to like the scuzzy water used by cattle & wildlife. I've never seen him swim; will have to ask Hubster if he swims while they're out stump shooting archery, walking up & down the mountains. Both Hubster & Munchkun are eagerly awaiting Jim's retirement. Soon! We also have a rat terrier, Sefi, who rules the world, & Björn, a possible GSD X who had surgery, last year, where they trimmed his knee & turned the leg 1/4 turn & on the other side, performed a fusion of the ankle joints. He's so incredibly happy to be without pain or drugs, he's a brand new dog! Therefore, we're all having way too much fun. 🐾 However, with daytime temps being at or near 100*, we nap during the heat. Speaking of which, temps are increasing & I'd better get the swamp cooler going, & the fans.

Our golden retriever, tess, would go NUTS when we played in the pool. We had a five foot deep above ground pool. She tried to climb the ladder to join us. We had to block the ladder to keep her out. When she couldnt get in using the ladder, she would do zoomies around and around the pool!
