My grandparents had a similar entrance to their front door, and they put fencing in along the walkway which they painted white, and they planted the outside along the fence with gorgeous roses so all her guests could be greeted by their beauty and perfume. I was always delighted to see it. Further down her house wall, she planted what us kids called a snowball tree. It would grow these massive white blooms in a ball shape that would drop white petals as they finished. So lovely! You could even do some climbing roses and jasmine on trellises against your house wall. I love gardening!!

I have huge hostas. The lady who lived here previously loved hostas and they are everywhere. I need to divide them year and I’ll have more. She also planted lily of the valley and they are taking over my lawn along with the orange daylilies which I don’t especially care for the color. Did you know you can eat the young shoots of hostas? Can’t wait to see the finished beds. I can’t do much of anything in the garden anymore.

Sometimes you have to just go with the easiest way (buy!) but without knowing much about gardens I do know my hostas. Mostly that they always come to me FREE from pieces off of friend's and neighbor's plants. And with my black thumb the hostas do great they really thrive and come up yearly and grow big and strong! From just free pcs off of others. I do love Menards because you can print ANY past receipt right from the automated machine at their entrance and it knows every card you use (I mean, I have 2) and finds you in so many different ways. No Lowes excuses like, must have receipt. Menards its just...everything you have bought right there in the system! Love it. Fun to see what comes up growing around a new-to-me house, so far I have these odd light green almost yellow striped hostas and then also a bunch of the orange day lilies that all came up this week! I have landscapers to help thru my HOA but wish they knew more...keep leaving weed vines in my butterfly bushes...am disabled so cannot manage much on my own...and that whole black thumb thing I just want the basics anyway lol. Also my area has the brood X cicadas this yeah...deafening and 7-10 or 20 bugs every foot! No kidding its a 17th year thing and something to experience if you havent....Cincinnati area.

In such a short amount of time you’ve created and planted a massive vegetable garden, set up an entire farm complete with a variety of animals barns and feed houses, set up a pool, created gardens beautiful gardens all around your home, painted the trim of the house put on new shutters, I hVe no idea the amo7nt of work Travis has done with the big diggers I know I hear him all the time in the background on something, which always makes me smile. My Dad ran heavy equipment his whole life, so when I hear a backhoe, a skidder of pretty much anything I think of him. Oh...AND you grew an entire new human and birthed said tiny new human, oh and of course homeschooled children, raised children fed children and run a business from home. Lady...you are incredible. Your home looks absolutely amazing, you should be incredibly proud of yourself and your family ( I know it is a joint effort, everyone pitches in )...I’m just pointing out, you have accomplished a whole lot in not a lot of time, especially considering you did it all during a pandemic and being pregnant . Sending lots of summer hugs.

The only issue is making sure that they get enough water, because tree roots get first dibs when it comes to rain water. Happy for you that there are times he can be with someone else and you can get jobs done. Amazed at your energy level at this stage though. You aren't even getting a full nights sleep yet are you??? The gardens look lovely. The hanging plants are beautiful along the front walkway. So much accomplished. Your cat takes the place of ornamental statuary! lol. He looks so content there. My daughter in particular never met a rainstorm or puddle she didn't love. She would have her raincoat, rain boots, and umbrella and be happy as a clam outside. She would have been jumping up and down with your sons. Sweet memories. Love the colorful porch rug and pillows too. Must be a joy to be outside looking at your house now. All the best!

I experienced bushes that didn't survive and had to learn how to keep the next ones alive. What I did first was several steps. You can use a regular shovel or some kind of tiller. Loosen the dirt, add some peat moss or I prefer potting soil. Mix that in well with the soil . If the area is too large then just the areas where you are planting, then just prepare only the space for your plant. Dig the hole twice and as deep as the roots of the plant. Take the plant out of the pot, gently, loosen the dirt around the roots. Plant the bush in the ground and cover it with the dirt (as much as it was covered in the pot). Water the bush surrounding the plant and in the bottom center of the plant every day until it's well established. I would say water it well for a few weeks, but not too much to drown the plant. After sometime you will start to see some new growth. In my experience I saw browning starting in the middle of the plant. That meant I wasn't watering enough. If you see browning at the outside of the plant, that may be overwatering. When I dug up my dying plant, it was very dry at the roots. Found out my plants closer to my house wasn't getting enough water either from the rain or myself watering it. Just make sure you water enough to water through the mulch and into the roots. Hope this helps with your landscape!

Benji walking in the garden, then continuing up on the rocks...he knows exactly what their real purpose is, and he is not going to miss the opportunity to try them out. Love all of you, and your sharing your life with us.

Had trouble with evergreen trees too. Went in my woods and dug some small ones from my area and they were doing great after 10 years. One is giant and I am able to decorate it for Christmas!

Hello as always it's a delight to see you, you're so amazing you've just had baby Tobin & you are busier than a bee.Your flower garden it's looking lovely almost as lovely as you Mama J, you radiate God's grace & his energy you're such a wonderful Mama you're so calm when little Benjamin comes with his bullfrog & the snake skin that's amazing he's a country boy through & through. I think that was a great suggestion you could create a story book about Benjamin or Daniel frogs that would be pretty neat, I think it would be a best seller & your patio area looks lovely thanks for sharing your life with us look forward to the next video God bless you 💘Sweetheart 💘Mama J 🌺🌹🌺🌹🌈🙏😇❤

Your purple flowers are called Allium. it is always a bummer when shrubs don't make it. I'll bet you can return them and get new ones. Yard work never ends! :)

With all those rocks, have you thought about having the kids paint some?? There are numerous rock painting groups where people (kids) paint them and leave them out for other kids to find and post to local rock FB groups. Fun to see how far some of them will travel.

Your flower garden is beautiful. I love all the trees you have. A few weeks ago a tornado moved through our area. It was on the ground for about 5 miles. It did a lot of damage but thank the Lord no one was hurt. The Daylillys will get huge. I have some and the are gorgeous. I've been working on my back deck etc. too. Wish you could see. Have a blessed Sunday.

The outside is really taking shape now......looks so nice round the front and sides of the house, looks like Kew Gardens a bit (Kew is a massive botanical garden near Richmond in West London). Looks fab! Love the new addition to the goat family too. Thanks for a great vlog!

I think that ornamental grass is liriope. My husband and I just call them Larry-Opie, because we can't pronounce it properly! They should come back every year for you! Everything looks beautiful and I'm getting some good ideas for my own yard. ☀️
