In this short film, three members of MIT's Anthropology Department, Stefan Helmreich, Erica James, and Heather Paxson, talk about their current work and the process of doing fieldwork.

Observing, talking, doing things with people, connecting, processing information, gathering information, exploring. An anthropologist basically studies everything from immigrants and their adaptation to a new country which is a very complicated topic nowadays, as well as something as peculiar as how to make cheese. The important thing is doing field work and be able to understand the particular situation and how it has an impact in our society and in the world...
