Don't feel bad I am the same way. The school has to tell me when it is going to go off and I bring earplugs and still have an anxiety attack when it's about to go off. They only tell me so the anxiety attack isn't all day long. Instead it's only right before the drill. I HATE THEM MORE THAN ANYTHING IN THE WORLD!!

@@ethanz5756 i didnt ask my school to tell me so they dont my therapist was trying to email them about that but im not sure if we ever did but ever since the new year started ive been putting earbuds in and on the 4th i was trying to play music to ease my anxiety bc my anxiety is like a diagnosis and it was bad that day and she told me to put it away and the next time she sees it it will go to the office my crush was telling me that its going to be ok

What brand are they, wheelock, simplex, faraday, you should be able to find it on the middle of the bells or on your fire alarm panel

They say that fire bells are actually much more effective during drills and emergencies than those annoying, ear-splitting horn strobes they use here in the United States.

All the bells are Simplex 2901-9724. And yes, that is a real model #. Basically the -9333 with a white label instead of black.

That is a FELONY to do so. You could even get SUSPENDED, most likely EXPELLED for doing that. In Minnesota (where I'm based out of), I'm pretty sure pulling a false alarm is an automatic felony.

My daughter posted under my name. She was 2, I was holding her at a band concert, and she reached out and grabbed the alarm behind me. At the age of 2, she did not have the mental capacity to form a criminal intent and was therefore not capable if committing a FELONY.

That’s called a voice evacuation. Many fire codes require voice when the number of occupants is so large that a horn would not be effective in alerting occupants of a fire. Better to have a voice system so people know what’s going on.

Rosalina Melchar actually, my public middle school had spectralerts and they're not half bad, except for the computer classroom where there's five of them. They're a bit startling but they're not super loud. Elementary school where I was kindergarten, first, second, and third grade had Wheelock NS and they were hell. The three fire alarms that suck so far are the NS, AS and Truealerts! I don't understand how fire alarm enthusiasts kiss them so much!

Railfan Brony We have 93 alarms in our school, they are all EXTREMELY loud. I'm in the 8th grade now, and we had a fire drill last week, we couldn't hear it at all. The principal came running in the band room screaming for us to evacuate, and of course we were all scared because she was literally SCREAMING, and when we got outside she said, "Okay that drill needed work." We were all salty af when we got back inside, except we watched Frozen when we sat down, so win win I guess. +It was during band and there's an alarm INSIDE the band room.

iAye Risi blehhhh! That sucks! One private school I was at had Siemens UMMT and they weren't too bad as long as there were groups or big conversations in the room. At the middle school, the alarms weren't making us middle finger the place most of the classrooms, the computer lab was bad with complete silence or sitting close to the alarm which is where I was and the art class alarm was actually broken, strobe and all so, we had the alarm where the kiln was and the hallway. It was easy! I'm nervous about the exceder HS at my high school although I was told that it's quieter than the NS and ZHS if your standing on the side. That's always helpful!

No, whenever the alarm is activated the panel beeps to let building workers know that an alarm is active. But it does sound like a car horn.
