Watching your tour made me realize what is written "That God is a jealous God". i never quite understood that til recently having my own lil balcony patch and seeing it in your tour. I simply understand now the jealous is where one's attention is spent. If I fail to give attention or spend time in the garden the jealousy is the loss i will experience in a negelectic Garden. The Garden is jealous of my attention to spend time in it😊

Everything you have done and herein this expert recap was full of so many nuggets. I thanks to your amazing tutorials have made my first batch of JS & JWA and applied it twice across this weekend thus far. I noted something called anthracnose excuse spelling issues if any and we also use antique goat fertiliser our farmer landlord donated, so we noticed some leaf issues. We have been working the mycelium from local forest also doing the potato froth bacterial sprinkle and rice IMO this past year as the soil was mostly rocks and drought dehydrated. We now have all the jadam materials and supplies finally, It's taken a year amongst projects for saving enough to get irrigation and it's nearly there. Being city town folk we didn't have a garden so your channel is invaluable in your immaculate delivery, confidence given, top tips and pointers to attempt a stab at self sufficiency and the good life. @gardenlikeaviking
@gardenlikeaviking Ай бұрын
you have to assess if they are truly damaging things and if they really need to be dealt with... if they do... then I will typically use JWA with JHS the Jerusalem artichoke one or the gingko one... but that is not a guarantee to work... sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't... try the marigold one as well I've had limited success with that... flea beetles are very tough to manage organically so often I just let them be rather than spray the plants with all kinds things even though they're natural

Did you grow potatoes in the black trash bags? I didn't see them in the video.
@gardenlikeaviking

after four seasons I have retired the bags and incorporated the soil into the formation of several new beds made of wood... last year I saw diminishing returns in the potato harvest and knew it was time to change it up because they can't keep growing in the same soil over and over even when compost is applied its just not enough

Marigolds attract the cabbage moth so I would use them sparingly.

you have that backwards my friend... they repel the cabbage moth and I have them all over the place for that exact purpose and it has been working for me for many years

Nate... this may seem like an odd query, but are you single? I recently became single because of my Veteran boyfriend's son. He assaulted me with a fire extinguisher a bit over a week ago. Otherwise... I'm just ready to try to join the military about life. I was gardening in zone 5a in Deadwood and I'm a heck of a singer. I have Norwegian ancestry, so I'm not sure what we'd smell like to each other, since I know that's "a thing". I try to be "practical", even if I'd like to be a bit more whimsical about life. I love dragons, frogs, and swords, for example... Cheers, Sir. I've learned much from your channel. Thank you for teaching others the things you know. God bless 🙏

My garden sucks this year. In Oregon, and even my arugula isn't more than 6" tall and is already starting to flower. None of my lettuce or spinach are really growing. My tomato plants still aren't more than 8" tall. Only my beef steaks are that tall. The other 3 varieties are only like 3" tall. Haven't grown since I planted about 3 weeks ago. Pepper plants, okra, onions, etc aren't really growing. Only thing that might be growing is my cabbage plants. Beets aren't doing good, nor is the cucumbers, zucchini. I can't get flower seeds to germinate very well. I'm using my JADAM that I started over a year ago. Added some store bought fish fertilizer yesterday. Have some urine that I tried with the JADAM and a fish as well as chicken manure solution I started back in Feb and March. I guess my light compost I added and leaves last Fall wasn't enough. I think my potatoes are starting to grow pretty good. We didn't get hardly any peaches, plums, or pears started this year. Last year our trees were loaded and this year I have less than a dozen on a couple trees and no plums at all. Even the old apple tree that was loaded last year has some fruit on it, but only about half the tree has fruit. This year appears it might be worse than it was last year. Last year was my first year trying to JADAM stuff, but thinking I might have to go to using fertilizers. I'm sick of not getting much out of my garden and spending so much time watering, weeding, etc. :( Our gardens area we are using hasn't been really used since we moved about between 2012 and 2022. The last 2 years have been the worse gardens I have ever have.

May be the preowner used chemicals. Make not only Jadam fertilizer make Kadam microorganisms from earth, potatoes and salt. Use it every two weeks to water or spray.

Also, a man like you, paired up with a woman like myself... could make a difference in places like Moscow or Beijing, for examples... do reach out. I need a new sense of purpose in life after this break-up. I worked in a hospital for well over a decade. I did nothing but night shifts in hospitals.
