Dolby Digital, originally synonymous with Dolby AC-3, is the name for what has now become a family of audio compression technologies developed by Dolby Laboratories. Originally named Dolby Stereo Digital until May 1995, the audio compression is lossy, based on the modified discrete cosine transform (MDCT) algorithm. The first use of Dolby Digital was to provide digital sound in cinemas from 35 mm film prints; today, it is now also used for applications such as TV broadcast, radio broadcast via satellite, digital video streaming, DVDs, Blu-ray discs and game consoles.

Nice video once again. Dolby has some amazingly well done trailers, especially the ones in the 90s, and I'm glad they're still using the Spheres trailer to this day. It's always a treat to experience it in the theater. The Stomp trailer was pretty awesome, with the crew using garbage cans and buckets to make music, and the Curious George trailer was very cute.

_OH BOY!_ I guess you've been speeding up in the making of your logo histories and compilations lately... Anyway, Dolby has some pretty exquisite and fantastic trailers. They are well done, beautiful, and fantastically animated, such as the "City" trailer (2:00), the "Rain" trailer (6:15) with neat use of special effects, and the "Aurora" trailer (6:59), arguably the greatest out of Dolby's collection of trailers. Plus, I don't know why the need for the "Argon" nickname for the trailer at 9:04. According to the periodic table, Argon doesn't have a light blue light, but rather a purplish light. The light blue light would be Xenon, so that would make more sense if the trailer would be nicknamed "Xenon" rather than "Argon".

Oh man, aren't sound systems awesome? These are all cool I especially like the 9th logo because it demonstrates the sound well and the 15th logo because of Barry/Jerry Seinfeld saying Dolbee

And yet, CLG Wiki (or AVID or whatever the hell they're calling themselves now) still has the Dolby logos in the wrong order. I believe the Aurora logo was supposed to go after Egypt. The history of Dolby is confusing. THX at least had the correct order of logos on the website, but Dolby?
