Hey friends! In this video I make a Thanksgiving dinner using only ingredients (minus spices) from the Dollar Tree! I wanted to keep things different from previous Dollar Tree Thanksgiving videos I've done, so this year I made Thanksgiving taquitos, homemade green bean casserole, homemade mac & cheese, and an apple pie using oil instead of butter for the crust.
The Dollar Tree isn't always the best value compared to places like Walmart or Aldi, but these videos are more about accessibility and getting creative with a limited grocery selection.

I love how you just improvise and explain how to just adjust things as you go. That’s half the fun! Enchiladas would’ve been a great way to incorporate the chicken, veggies, and cheese too. I love that taquitos idea. I'm totally doing that for Friday's leftovers. We like spicy too, so I'm going to put in some pepper jack cheese. Maybe I will mix some cranberry sauce with some sour cream for a dipping sauce. Starting a new tradition thanks to you 🎉❤

Quick "hack" to open canswith pull tabs. Stick a spoon handle in pull tab pull and it is open saves my nails.

@@Boats_N_Hoez I guess if you really want to split hairs about the tortilla size, but they're smaller than burrito size tortillas and they are corn, so they certainly can be classified as taquitos.

Lisa, take a sheet of foil n fold it into triangles like you would to make a parchment circle. Cut the point of the triangle to make a large enough circle to expose the center of the pie while covering the edges of your pie crust so it doesn’t burn. It is not necessary to cut the foil into a circle but to just cut out the center so the crust doesn’t burn. I have been doing this for years. Perfectly cooked pie crust edges!

It’s just myself this year I wanted to make pot roast for thanksgiving but the store I was at was out I’m making chicken as well. Italian panko crusted chicken legs, biscuits with honey, and baked potatoes. Lol happy thanksgiving

The taquito idea is genius. I might have just mixed the chicken into the stuffing to help stretch the chicken throughout if you wanted to keep going with filling all of the shells. I also would have maybe swapped the apple out for cherry if I wasn't able to find cranberry. Then I would have used part of the cherry to create a cherry glaze in lieu of cranberries. In lieu of a whole pie, I may have reduced the dessert down to a couple of turnovers.

Next time you make a pie, use some foil folded around the edges of the crust and it will keep the outside edge nice not burnt.....Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving with your family........"take care and be as safe as you can be"(WT).........Here's hoping everyone that is watching has a wonderful day........

My secret to making box stuffing homemade….is buy a couple of fresh bulk mushrooms , a cooking onion and sauté those both with garlic and butter /margarine/ oil with paprika,sage,garlic powder,pepper …then add stale bread ripped up and sauté all together…then pop in a stuffing mix and then add chicken boullion and water.Put that in a greased baking pan and halfway through cooking add some turkey juices. No one will ever know

Although I’m watching from UK and we don’t have thanksgiving I really enjoy watching your dollar tree videos, we have a similar store called Poundland but it doesn’t sell as many food items as dollar tree

I say the same with tasting while I cook. I enjoy your take on a dollar tree thanksgiving. It's funny we never had Mac and cheese for thanksgiving but I see lots of people no it now. On the oil crust when I have made an oil crust to give it more flavor I add a complimentary spice to the crust as well as the filling and if you have instant milk powder put a tablespoon of that into the crust to give it a more traditional flavor.
