Dolly Allen - BBC TV 'Off the Cuff' Comedienne of The Original Black Country Night Out Show
Comediennes are few and far between and good ones even rarer but the Black Country can claim to have one of the very best in its own Dolly Allen. Even as a young girl Dolly had a yearning for appearing on stage and began to do local talent contests at the tender age of eight years. Later, as a fourteen year old factory worker, she began composing monologues and eventually her own brand of hilarious and dead pan humour brought her to wide and appreciative audiences throughout the West Midlands. Dolly, like the rest of the 'Black Country Night Out' team has now chalked up quite a few radio and T.V. broadcasts and along with the other four she made a very successful appearance on the B.B.C.1. T.V. "Off the cuff" programme. No one would dispute the fact that she is the first lady of Black Country Comedy.
Notice: The echo ring on the Wulfrun hall part of the recording (Side 1) is due to the public address system and is NOT a fault on the record.
