I grew up in the Missouri Bootheel, and we got to see Dolly, as she was first performing on television our of Paducah, Ky. with Porter Wagoner. You can look at Dolly, even after all these years, and she that same Dolly where she began - fresh, real and honest. Her husband has his own business and he is quiet and they have had one of the most long-lasting marriages in America. All that wholesomeness shows in Dolly. It is refreshing to see someone like her be a success story in this world!

What a Beautiful Song! The Word is not only for men - but Godly Women also ~ "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." (Isiah 40:31)

My understanding was that it was Dolly's choice not to use it in "Steel Magnolias" because she wanted people to see her as an actress and not a singer and thought her song would draw attention away from her acting.
@MrEricSevert13 жыл бұрын
This song was supposed to be used for "Steel Magnolias", but Dolly was never able to convince them to let her be a part of the soundtrack. Rumor has it Dolly did NOT get along with the director, who thought he hired an actress. I suspect he got revenge on her & omitted her musical contributions.
