Dolly herself has been putting out rock music. And i love it. What's the difference? Musicians have been swapping genres for a song or album for decades. Sometimes permanently. We live in a free country where people have a right to do that. Listeners also have a right to listen and enjoy it or not.

I already knew what Dolly would say, she's ALWAYS been a class act and one of the best things for country music. New Kids on the Block, Eminem, Robin Thicke, Kid Rock, Justin Timberlake, Sam Smith.... Traditional Soul, HipHop/R&B fans didn't ask for them, but we got them anyway. And C&W fans didn't have a problem with it, because it wasn't their problem. But now that C&W fans have a problem, well.......

Music is universal, that ONE thing in life that brings us together, that we can share! I’m so thankful my parents were open books when it came to us experiencing all genres of music. No we are not going to gravitate to all music, but we don’t have to be mean, just don’t listen to it. One thing I’ve found is, as we grow older our taste matures, we mellow out! But one thing for sure is, everyone loves a song that makes you want to dance, be you 5, or 105, your soul can’t help but be happy! Come on people we can do better as humans, It’s not that hard…❤❤❤

Music is for everyone, and I’m glad you enjoy country music as well! Beyoncé is from Houston, and her mother is Creole. There is no way that she didn’t have exposure to country music as a kid. The history of country music can trace its roots to African American folk-music, blues, creole, bluegrass, and Appalachian music. It also has influences from Tejano music and other music too depending on the region the artist comes from. It’s history is that of a blue collar working person, and some people seem to have forgotten that. If Beyoncé can bring more people into country and give it the revival it desperately needs, I’m 100% behind it. She has a great voice and the song is a fun and catchy tune. Is it your “traditional” song? I’d say that country music isn’t of one tradition, but of many. Personally I’m not a fan of the modern “bro-country,” but to each their own.

I find it hilarious that the people who say “it’s not country” can never articulate why it’s not or even what country music is…Beyoncé is a southern woman born and raised in Houston Texas, she herself is quite literally country!! She’s making it her own, there are currently various different styles of country. To the people who say this isn’t country…..you’re exposing yourselves and your biases. This song is quite obviously country, stop saying otherwise cause you aren’t a fan

Because it is not country. The first eight bars are old time banjo, beyond that the instrumentation is all wrong. Not only that, but flinging a bunch of popular country buzz phrases, with no real connection, or actual point is not how true country songs are written. Most every country song ever written has a point. Many tell a story. Some just focus on a particular emotion or event. But they all have a point. Further still country is seldom vulgar. This is rap/hip-hop in disguise. A very thin disguise at that. This is clearly a dance tune. Nothing wrong with that. It is not bad, just not country. It would be like adding actual real instrumentation (you know people playing real instruments like guitars, keyboard, horns, strings etc) and harmonies to RAP. That would never be allowed. And if it is not littered with MF this and that, and bitch hoe it will not be considered good rap. Nobody is saying she should not be allowed to produce whatever she wants. Just do not call it something it is not. That is really hard for some people to understand. Maybe they don't listen to the lyrics and instrumentation. Most are not country fans to begin with, so transforming it to something they like seems acceptable to them.

Problem I see is the white community I hear complaining are all saying "they" which obviously is stating that C&W music is "whites Only" while sometimes outright stealing & or profiting off the black artist who either wrote, influenced, performed many hits & never getting proper respect for the huge contribution black, native, hispanic, etc people have made in C&W music. So YES it is country music by it's own definition as defined as (NOUN) a form of popular music originating in the rural southern US,popular vocal music characterized by simple harmonies accompaniment by stringed instruments, repeated choruses, and often narrative lyrics. Her songs so far follow that definition.

I hate to admit this and I know i will get a lot of flak, but I feel the opposite. I liked Taylor swift because she was country( i personally love all types of music) and was mad at her when she left. I think that she was pretty and used country to build her fan base and when she got what she wanted, then left and never looked back. I may be wrong but i just felt she was fake in country and she was really another type of singer. I would have respected her more if she just started in the genre she is in now and not used country. I think anyone adding to country is great. Let's face it. Country turned into 70s rock a long time ago and now is country pop. I've gotten used to it. At least Beyoncé is famous already and really doesn't need to prove she's awesome. She just is. Now she trying to share her art to a different audience but she's not going to leave the people that made her a star. Just my humble opinion and how i see it. ✌️and God bless.

Wow I love the insightful and thoughtful comments on this channel and video. I love what Beyonce has done, and I didn't expect to. I thought why classify yourself? I thought it was a cynical move to sell more albums. And then I listened to Cowboy Carter. It's incredible, it's a concept album inspired by the country music genre. As a core country music fan (Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, etc) I love what she's done. She really understands the genre and created something new and old within it. Beautiful.

Ray Charles stuck to the format. Charley Pride stuck to the format. Darius Rucker stuck the format. It is not a black/white thing. It is a music thing. Eight bars of banjo do not make it country. I'm waiting to see hear the rest of the album. So far though, all this does is take popular Country one step further down the road to Hip-Hop. It is like trying to play baseball with a basketball. Making this about race is just stupid. Race has nothing to do with it. Time signatures, instrumentation, lyrics, and record production have everything to do with it. Are you not sophisticated enough to understand that?

Honestly with a lot of country songs becoming more like pop than the older stuff, it's not a surprise that more people are crossing over. I do like the song Texas hold'wm as it's catchy and I wasn't even aware of it being Beyonce to begin with. That said, I am holding out to see how her album does and where she goes with it as I have seen some do great in country and there's others who shouldn't go that route. So I think her music will need to speak for itself. Also, I know Dolly is a fan of music in general and really, I can't blame her. The more wholesome music we have the better. But I am just not sure how she will do since it will be a lot different than her usual work. Which is why I am waiting because honestly, we all know it takes more than one or two singles to really be good at country. But I also understand why some artists are upset. Because there is some singers who are so iconic in their genres that it would be devastating to hear them switch. Can you see Brittany Spears as a country singer? I know I can't. How about Eminem? Beyonce was one of those but she does have the vocal range for it. It's just a matter if she has the heart, emotions, and twang for it. Because good country music.... Has that country twang.

I know Beyonce is trying her hand at country music, I listen to this song of hers and personally it's not bad but it doesn't sit right with me. Because even though you add Banjo 🪕 and/or Fiddle/Violin 🎻 to song it doesn't make it Country, even adding Steel Guitar or a Mandolin probably work either. This is sadly why artist like George Strait, Alan Jackson and the Late Loretta Lynn questioned the state the industry in; I admit with some songs I'm trying write, I'm try too keep some of old and bit of new in it. I guess more because I listen to 90's/early 2000s Country music and that mostly my heart goes to, some of today are good but I also understand the origin of things and why I work so hard; mostly due to learning from past generations that if you want something in life, you have to work hard for it.

Its because people praise basic white chicks like Taylor doing country, but when she released "Daddy Lessons" and an homage to her father who liked country music, she was heavily criticized (when in fact the music is fun and sound way more country than any country song Taylor has released). People hated on her for singing a genre that black people like her invented, she took it to her heart and is probably trying to prove she can do country music. So far I love both songs, and when she releases her album we can see if its good or not. To me anyone can sing any genre they want, people aren't made to fit into boxes and be stuck there forever.

You people think you own everything,😂and you really don't😂 Unfortunately, white people don't own everything, and there are more minorities than white people 😂😂😂 it's the way God planned it 😂 if you got a problem with it, you have to take it up with the MAIN MAN😂 otherwise live as long as he lets you and try to do your best and do what his son Jesus Christ wood do😂 Love thy neighbor as thyself😂

It's all satanic symbology moloch worship. She and JZ are owned by the dark side it's well known by most. This song gets country fans to participate in Satan worship.

If Dolly can be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, we can give Beyonce a go at country.

John Schneider played the adoptive father of a super powered man, providing a solid moral center, teaching him about what’s right and wrong and to represent the human race positively. Great acting, John.

Wow do you actually know what a thug is? It’s a violent criminal, she’s never done anything of the sort, you’re so used to referring to black peoples as such, too bad there’s no cure for racism, you’re sick

@@blackmatter2769 You just proved my point. An error in typing. Another thug is exposed. There is no room in true country music for someone like her who is only looking to make a point and more money with the black community. That's all I have to say on this subject. Good Day
