Dollywood Express 192: Springtime in the Smokies

4 ай бұрынFormer US Army/White Pass & Yukon 2-8-2 MacArthur 192 "Klondike Katie" was at the head of the Dollywood Express for opening weekend 2024. To celebrate the start of the new season, Katie wore an old number plate dating back at least to the park's Silver Dollar City days, with parts of it possibly from all the way back to the park's first incarnation as Rebel Railroad.

Klondike Katie, my favourite American steamy sister, long time no see. I've missed you more than words could possibly say. It's so good to hear your beautiful chime whistle. We wouldn’t have a Dollywood without 192. It was what started the park (then known as Rebel Railroad) on its path. It was 192 that made the park popular, and she still continues that legacy.
