My cover of Thunder by Dom & Roland from the album Industry (1998)
unmixed
Oneshot samples of the drums were loaded onto a Roland TD-50 and performed manually by me.
The rest of the track recreated and sequenced on an MPC One.
Most of the sounds came from Dom & Roland's Curiosities of Sound sample pack, the rest I approximated on a Korg Modwave and resampled onto the MPC. The Tighten Up break was also processed by me as only the Amen break and Life Could break were available from the sample pack.
The filter cutoff frequency was controlled by an expression pedal on a Roland FC-300.

I opened my set with this record to really grasp the crowd. I also could see the amp upstream from my mixer a DJM600 sooo i was enhancing the sound effect for impact.

They really are all oneshots. Drum & Bass style beats just really naturally click with me. You could check out Stranjah on KZfaq if you haven't already. He offers pretty good insight on drum arrangement and stuff like that.
