Yeah, I feel that. This is unironically the best thing I've read in my life... and I will be judged so fuckin heavily if I ever say that because on the surface level this is a trainwreak. I don't like projecting real world ideals onto anime, thats what you would do with a live action movie. But imho Domestic Kanojo is a really good anime that uses the strengths of japanese animation, all the characters and worlds are different from the reality so we can use it as an outlet for our dreams and desires. Because we know that its not the real world we can interpret everything we want into it. I think it's a real unique anime that, from an objective point of view without judging the morality of it, shows what this medium is capable of.

After (and I'm not kidding) watching the show and then reading the manga from beginning to end in one sitting that took me about 52 hours (yes ik and if u don't belive just don't lol) I was so exhausted and sad i was crying while finally falling asleep. The emptiness I felt for the next 2 weeks was indescribable. When I had nothing to think about I still got sad even though I was for Hina. I still felt that void inside me....

Kind of the same boat but over 3 days. I then went and re-watched the anime. Twice. The best moment for me was ep.2 where Rui finds out Natsuo likes Yo Hasukawa's works and says 'ah that pretentious intellectual that's all about love angst stories', and then we find out he's their literature teacher! It just killed me. The skit moment that followed was a masterpiece. I felt the manga ending was a bit rushed, but other than that... very compelling, gripping story with lots of character development. Once you reach the end, you realize that all of them were really children at the beginning of the story.

(SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT READ THE MANGA OR WHO HAVENT CAUGHT UP) Rui and Natsuo really do hit it off and I was so happy because I was a Team Rui all the way... Until fucking Rui dumped him even though yesterday (prior to the situation) she said she was gonna stay next to him. They were fighting because they felt their relationship feeling rocky, unstable, and toxic. But even though all was going on, both still agreed to keep pushing and they even slept together with both of them saying I Love you. I guess Rui just pussied out even though she said she was gonna keep pushing for the relationship (normally I would want the relationship to end of it gets toxic, duh. But Rui and Natsuo agreed to keep going and to fight thru, which is why I hated what Rui did by just dumping him by ditching him and going back to USA.)

I have a crazy 360 degree story. I saw this video in my recommendations and it’s the reason I got into Domestic Girlfriend. I watched the anime, and then read the manga. This is how I got vtubers recommended on my KZfaq. I then got to watching a vtuber, who read a tsundere copy pasta on a stream Then another recommendation of a real life girl reading the tsundere copy pasta I checked out who she was and on her channel was a video saying “how gigguk proposed to me” I thought that name was familiar so I searched gigguk on youtube It took me to your channel, where I refound this video, which is where it all started. This story spans over the course of a year -ish

The two girls the MC is entangled with BECOME his step sisters as a *PLOT DEVICE*. The *PLOT* is about dealing with feelings in the face of the situations that have come about. There are a series of plot devices that create strife for the MC. In love with a teacher: taboo. Tries one night stand hoping it'll help let go of those feelings: normal adolescent thought process. It doesn't work. Ends up sleeping with love interest's sister: Very complicated. Teacher has reciprical feelings: Very complicated. Teacher is in a relationship with married man: Very complicated. Love interest and OneNightStand become step sisters: Exasperates complications, drives conflict, Forces Intimate Settings, Locks the characters in and significantly raises the stakes.
