Thanks for explaining how these systems work. Before you got to the clean out of the tank part I was thinking the bucket is easier but if it's that easy to clean, well then lol. And when you say in marriagevows "for better or worse", your husband truly meant it lol.

Cara!! I love you!! I needed this. I am getting ready to start taking my 9 yr old daughter camping in our SUV and she told me she won’t go potty outside. So I brought a Thetford portable potty. I hope it works for her! I love your humor and I now have a Frenchie and I wasn’t sure if he would be able to go out with us. But seeing your gorgeous Goose has made me excited that I can bring him along. I love you and ur hubby. I hope one day I can join you guys out in Colorado! That’s where I live 😊❤❤. There is a KZfaqr that I follow that started out van camping. He had one of those type of toilets in his fan and forgot about the elevation change, and what the Pressure does and his basically.” exploded.” inside his camper and made a huge mess.. anyway I still laugh when I see that video and he tells that story. But be aware of poop explosions. 😂😂😢😂

I love your videos, you guys rock. Helpful hint, it works better to leave the chute closed and pump some water into the bowl then poo, then flush. Also when not in use, that rubber seal likes water so it doesn’t dry out and start leaking.

We stopped using this one a couple years ago and now use the Insta Privy. So much better!!

I don't know how I missed this one Cara. I think you did a great job. I will have to invest in this toilet. I carry an inexpensive model on long day trips for the wife, but I think this model would be not as crappy as her current toilet.

So far my wife is okay with the 5gallon bucket, but I use wag bags that have the chemicals to break the doo down. So I put one bag on in the morning & another at night once done we seal it up and throw it in with the trash bag. Do not leave one for the next day it’s just not good. But this will probably be in my future purchases.

Thank you for the video! I have a couple questions I hope you can answer. We ATV so I'm wondering, I would pack this on the ATV doing trail rides and just wonder if it'd be sturdy enough ? Also size of the toilet seat ? is it comparable to Home Base (probably not but No dimensions on the company site ) Thank you Appreciate your info

It’s survived bouncing around in the back of our trailer and I don’t strap it down. I would think it would be ok if you strapped it down good on the ATV. I’d get the smaller one with a 2.5 gallon tank. As far as size, it’s a little smaller than a standard toilet seat.

by far the most interesting thing seen this am just before headed off for root canal. Seriously, convinced me to look at your apparatus for our next trip to NM outback. So after emptying it out how do you sanitize the poop compartment? Do you just never do it because of the solution you use? Doesn't it still smell? Or dry up and crusty if you let it sit dry for awhile?

Rinse it out real good then just swish a little bleach and water around in it. No smells after cleaning. Just don't let it sit full for a week in the summer before cleaning. I made that mistake once. LOL

Can anybody tell me what the "open" and "closed" dial is for? Is that used when dumping or not?

There's nothing to hook up. You just pick it up and dump it.

Good job, Informative, on point, and great timing with the humor. I'm gonna use this as Official Video #1 for all future Overland Camping Girlfriend candidates. Maybe after the first date but no later than the third. Then they can either say "I'm in, let's go!" or "Later Dude". Is it stored with the little bit of chemical water left in it or do you just empty and leave dry until next trip?

Great review! Thinking about getting one of these for my family. Love all the crappy puns! Question: where is this stored when you’re out wheeling? I’m thinking of keeping ours on a rear hitch mounted rack to keep it out of our Jeep’s trunk.

We only take this when we have our teardrop camper so it stays in there or we leave it at camp if we have a base camp set up.

I’m definitely the better half. Hahahahaha. And I honestly think it is not humane for the cat litter. Pretty sure those chemicals aren’t supposed to mix with human waste. I’m lucky it didn’t blow up.
