CRAZY! I’m obsessed with JD’s style of drumming. Domi for those who haven’t seen her play before is INSANELY talented! They deserve all the success coming to them and shout out to the Paak man himself for seeing the talent in them and helping spread the beautiful music they create.

She is definitely amazing. But playing bass with the left melody in the right while singing is pretty standard keyboardist stuff just so people know. A lot of guys and girls can even play foot pedals on an organ while singing and playing with two hands.

Honestly, I almost cried when he introduced them in the ending and they went all out for a few moments how they usually play. Like, we'll play the pop game but here's a little taste of what we can do. It's a sweet little victory, can't wait to see what these beasts come up with next.

Man, that is nothing. I have seen her casually cook a mean pasta putanesca, knit a gorgeous colorful sweater, wash her car, mix a Manhattan cocktail, play the bass part, play the keys, sing the chorus AND pick some lunch from her teeth with a toothpick AT THE SAME TIME. And all of this while riding a camel through the Sahara desert looking for an oasis. Now that was insane!

So fuckin sick. I remember when JD was killin it when he was like 14. Then I remember scoping JD and DOMi killing it with Mononeon and it was clear they deserved to be huge. Seein this feels completely justified and I'm looking forward to all their success

I'm more impressed by how they left so much space and were able to perfect accompanists and ridiculously good back-vocalists as well as being complete insane jazz soloists, then by their super-technical part at the end. Very very few musicians are able to be in their elements in both those situations.

I mean they're singing the chorus on the studio version of this as well, so you have heard their voices if you've been keeping track of the releases. It's just because of the nature of the recording they have the individual tracks a little bit more isolated so you can hear JD and Domi a little better.

When I first heard "smile" on an apple playlist...i knew whoever made that tune was the one...immediately. then I looked up these guys and I see they are taking off by the day. I actually know the guy who mentored JD Beck on the drums...when I found out who it was, I knew he was in great hands. Dallas, Tx has had a thriving jazz/fusion scene for a long time, and JD is the product of that. His style of drumming is how they do it in Dallas.

@@satsukikorin John Carruth…Cleon. Those are just two off the top of my head. I’ve heard these drums plenty of times in Dallas. A lot of the guys I don’t know by name but they were doing this like 10 years ago when Bernard Wright was running the scene
