Love your videos! I've got a pit/staff mix who is nice and smart. Lovss other dogs and is quite obedient. One thing we cant get rid of is pulling. Tried every metod on yt and doesnt work. The only thing that works is prong collar, but when it goes off the pulling continiues. Its not ultra bad its just annoying. Need to try halti or front mounted chest strap. Do you have any tips how to get rid of it for good? He gets plenty of mental stimulation and exercise.

Columbus ga, my German shepherd is very possessive and does only what he wants. But he's not innately mean either. Honestly he's bitten me but not badly, and he's huge. He jumps on my back when I turn away.
@rachelshumpert8522 жыл бұрын
I'm scared of him, but I try not to show it. But I can't help it once he starts knocking me down. He'll never attack me on the ground or anything like he doesn't attack attack. Now I have a Blue heeler that's grown up with him his whole life. He absolutely hates that dog and it's quite a dangerous situation so they have to be separated on either side of the yard at all times. I can't do the obvious which is get rid of one because technically One belongs to my mom the other belongs to my dad but I'm the person who feeds them and cleans their poop up every single day. And my German Shepherd is absolutely terrified of water in the water hose

Recently, I watched a video of a mother dog with seven puppies. One of the males turned very aggressive and began bullying his siblings. The mother lightly grabbed him in the same area you showed to pinch. She repeatedly did it there and elsewhere while he growled and snapped back. This lasted for a few minutes across a few days because humans kept interfering. It ended with him rolling over on his back and the mother placing her mouth over his neck. Afterwards the puppy acted calmly, behaved politely, and looked happy. After finishing with that puppy, the mother then did the same thing one by one with the other six. I started wondering maybe the breeders are a major cause of why there are so many misbehaving dogs here now. The mothers aren't being allowed to teach and discipline their kids on how to behave properly and obediently comply with whatever the leader wants.
@sweetpea13222 жыл бұрын
Very true! Momma dogs know what to do and it doesn't help when humans step in and try to control the situation! Turns my stomach when I come across videos of people delivering pups(pulling pup from momma dog,wiping pup and cutting cord) when it's not necessary and it interferes with the momma dog & pups bonding.

He not only doesnt show fear, he doesnt show an ounce of anger or frustration. I honestly think it's because the dogs don't sense any of chance of DD giving in, no anger or unnecessary aggression, they instead just decide to either give in or feed off of him and they just calm themselves right down. Hope these pet owners don't take these poor things back into an environment where there is fighting, arguing and just turbulence in the home (like with their spouse). These dogs often become aggressive from just being around an aggressive owner and are just mirroring that (even a pet owner that lives alone but is always shouting and swearing at the tv during sports games all pissed off... will have an affect and adversely hype up their dog unknowingly!)

My heart cracked open when u saw this Akita cross it's paws over the lead😢 my Toby who i paid 600 for just to get him out of a bad household at 5 months old did the same thing when attempting to walk him. He was so fearful of everything he was carried often the first week with us and he was already 35lbs at the time. He was so neglected and abused he knew nothing and was scared of EVERYTHING. It took about 6 mouths of behavior training just to get him to walk around the block and a year to get him walking outside of the neighborhood. He still have many fears but thankfully no aggression he just sits and shakes. I AM REFUSING TO GIVE UP ON HIM. He's a beautiful Scots Collie and deserves to live comfortably in his fur.

@slickback17532 жыл бұрын
That's not what the dog is doing, it's shutting down, not feeling relaxed and secure, it's a defense mechanism and doesn't fix behavior.
@Abnormalgut2 жыл бұрын
@@slickback1753 I see this, too. He breaks the will of the dog and the dog reacts with confusion and surrenders. But the dog do not really learn new things about relationship between humans and himself. In the next critical situation without dog daddy next to him and without leash this dog will react like he did before. If it would be that easy to just tear a dog with a leash and say "sit" and it would work we would not need dog trainers. The main thing is that a dog trains situation that are difficult for it, and build a strong reliable team. Your dog has to know that he can trust in its human in particular and in humans in general. It is all about leading. And leading is always a thing of trust. Look like dogs treat each other member in the pack. What they are doing? The are caring each other. They do just little acts to clear who is the boss. They do less fight and less growling each other. They are really soft and social. If you treat your dog like this it will get the same personality. The humans create dogs as monsters through inbreed, through making mistakes in their childhlod and through abuse and less education. If you will have a very good dog it is a lot of time, efford, stress and patience and money you have to invest. It is a task and a lot of people are to lazy that they can do it. I do not have a dog. I had my whole life dogs. But now it does not fit in my life and so i can not have a dog. It would be not fair to the dog. Dogs are the best thing that can happen to humans and they should be treated like a diamont. They are so worth. You can get a dog everywhere. They are treated like trash and so people unterestimate their value. What a big mistake! We make to less out of these wonderful beeing. If we let them do this they give us so much positive impact in our life. I know lots of therapy dogs and it is facinating how the can suöport people. I know a dog that assist to a blind owner, i know dogs that help people with ptsd, i know therapy dogs in a residence for old people. If you see how sensitive and wise these dogs are their for humans you get tears in your eyes and cry like a child.

@@Abnormalgut the way training works is reinforcement. That dog IS relaxed once he got what was expected of him, and stopped overreacting. Giving positive reactions at that point, with much repetition, teaches the dog his place and how to act as part of a human family. This IS NOT something that happens in one day, this is going on over months of training sessions
@amaraamara27122 жыл бұрын
@@LMCorvinus spot on, some people carry on like this happened in 1 session. If we watch how a mother disciplines an unruly pup, she nips at the inner hip/weak spots which causes confusion and she does this until complete submission. Teaches discipline, how to not be a jerk in the pack and keeps the pup safe. If anything I think pups should stay with their mother longer than 8 weeks so she can do her job properly in teaching her litter rights and wrongs But humans can't wait and want to sell/buy ASAP.

I went through this same thing with my American Akita for a while. I studied every nook and cranny to break him of this habit and now he's a loyal, respectful dog to me. You have to stay firm in what you ask or tell them until they do the command properly. It's such a rewarding feeling for us both.

As someone who used to train aggressive dogs for 15 years 8/10 times the owners do not follow through with what they've learned unfortunately. Some people just do not understand that they HAVE to be a strong leader. Sometimes they allow their human feelings to get in the way also. I can't tell you the amount of women that came to me with their dog for training an when I followed up a couple weeks later they informed me that they felt they were being to mean an haven't worked with the dog at all since our training. Plain and simple some people just do zero research on the breed they're getting an do not understand that every breed isn't meant for everyone.

He has ZERO bite history. As you can see, his mouth never touched the trainer he’s just standing high to show dominance & barking a lot because of all that yanking on his neck. My dog is not aggressive.

@@abbydoo916 ARE U KIDDING ME??? He tried to commit suicide because he felt so bad about the shady work he has done. Along with this abusive trainer. If you're not training positive and train what you want the dog to do instead of hitting/choking/yelling at the dog for what it does wrong you will have a scared dog. My dog is part of the family and is trained way better than any choked and abused, scared to be pet like in the video dog... that laziness could get certain breeds to turn on you as well. It's lazy and idiotic to believe "pack and alpha male BS". Ugh so many HORRID dog owners. Ego maniacs feel good to abuse a dog that has no choice but to listen... pathetic
@westofthewicky29602 жыл бұрын
@@DG4L this moron uses pinch collars on top of his bully tactics. Dogs need to feel safe, loved, part of a pack and led. I have four who are also part of my family they are amazing little guys who are fiercely loyal and know their place in the pack. No hitting or shouting involved just an understanding of dog mindset. There is no need for acting like this guy except his own bravado and ego
@westofthewicky29602 жыл бұрын
Imo they are both rubbish. This guy especially, uses pinch collars on the fly and is known for his inhumane breeding of dogs also. His ego shines through more than his “approach”. A dog never learns anything positive through fear
