Love to see you back to Workers and resources soviet republic. It's still i beta but glose to 0.9. I got 2500+ hours in it. And as a reweiw on steam says " I see the first 500 hours as a tutorial"

For the last run connecting end of blue to that purple triangle next to it would let trains grab a lot of shapes. Blue was riding pretty much empty that way.

It was really interesting. The only squares were in the middle of the map. The micro-managing you did at the very end definitely gave you the tiny bit of points needed!

That's the way the NYC map works. It makes the second achievement for the map REALLY difficult.

One thing that sometimes helps is “redirecting” a line because sharp turns slow down the trains. I love the game especially the tough challenges to unlock other game modes. NY used to be “X amount of passengers and only one line covering square stations”

Indeed. When dragging lines to new shapes the game doesn't always optimise for gentle curves; while simply dragging the line to the outer side of the station and then back can result in a less sharp turn.

@@Thermalions I play on mobile and there it’s a bit easier to make the game do what you want on first try, but it’s probably because I played a lot on hard difficulty where you can’t edit anything once it’s done

A tip that's not always obvious. You can adjust the trains path slightly at stations, which is something you'll want to do to avoid sharp turns or lines crossing over each other, as the trains will run slower through those. You can adjust the path by re-connecting the line to the station from a different angle, you have to just play around until the preview shows what you're wanting then let go the mouse button.

Definitely give Station to Station a try if you enjoy this sort of game Quill. Cozy train puzzles with 3D pixel graphics. Great time

What I found very important is to avoid chaining stations of the same type together, especially if it's at the end of a line as those stations only get served half as much.

In case nobody said anything, you can connect the ends of your lines and they help each other run by offloading the near ones. For example try 2 the blue and purple could touch ends and they would trade triangles, stars, and pluses

Btw, if you have lines cross each other outside of a station, the trains slow down for the crossing.

It’s hilarious to me to hear Quill call Th Bronx “a little island off to the north.” I love this game, and I love Quill, and it’s super interesting to see someone from another country try to map a metro of where I grew up.

28:04 you've played this infinitely more than I have, but I really would have liked to see you take this route, and loop it around from "leaf" (which I would call "lemon") across a bridge to circle, triangle, then back to star, making all the specials a nice loop, as the spine of your system.

A specials line isn’t completely crazy in the early game with a carriage, but it doesn’t pair with and interchange needed for the late game.

@8:14 - Ah. That probably explains why I didn't get a pre-roll ad. :P edit: Sigh. I now own the game since it's half off on Steam. Wonder how many levels I'll get through before it breaks my brain? :P edit 2: After 4 hours of play, I now hate circles with every fibre of my being.

"Rhomboid" = Diamond "Leaf" = Football (Though I can't imagine the drama that would result from putting a stadium in the East Village.) Generally I try to avoid those hard 45 degree or less turns, as they slow the trains down even when they don't have to stop there, as do lines crossing outside of stations. Could you do a video on the "No more than two lines on squares" NY achievement? I've been stuck on that one for like two years.

I've always wondered whether it's actually worth doing a full reorganization like that... Yes, it lets you directly organized lines in a way that you can address all your problems at once, but is it worth the total disruption of all of your traffic?

It is. Sometimes you could even keep a individual line for use as a last resort whenever a station is almost full.

I think maybe you need to stop thinking about trains and start thinking abstract game. It seams to be all about the shape order and special shape flow.
