As a sovereign nation, we have the right to protect our boundaries, enforce immigration laws, and prioritize the well-being of our people first as is done everywhere in the world. The definitive solution to the problems of this neighboring nation is not in the Dominican Republic. That the French came back in 1826, required and actually got reparations from Haïti implies that Haïti's independence was a façade, a joke. With Independence comes responsibility and the ability to defend oneself. After 1804 Haïti built 20-odd fortresses about 5 miles inland: they would concede coastal areas because France had a Navy and Haiti did not. But Haiti got overextended with their invasion of the Dominican Republic (1824-1844). Ooops!!!

First of all you're a certified liar. after the French lost in 1804, the French did not comes back like gullibles like claimed. in 1812, the French did sent a crew to tried to negotiate a reparation deal with king Henry Christophe but it did not went well for the French crew. so from 1812 to 1825, France went and formed alliances with 12 other countries for back up, and in 1825, france and it's alliances wrote to the Haitian president jean Pierre boyer and demanded reparation or all 13 countries will surrended Haiti and used gunboat diplomacy. so the half Haitian and half French president Boyer agreed to it without the population consent. that's why the population sent him to exile when they found out what he did.
