Very smart move. It is better for us black woman to allow the Dominican hairstylist to do the bundles than our natural hair because they apply alot of heat that could cause damage. It's better the bundles than our hair 👍👏

The girls at my Dominican salon talked me out of getting perms. It’s weird cause black hair stylist always complain about my thick hair. We don’t need all that chemical shit in our hair. I think thickness is more important than length. And they been saving my bundles for a low price of 25 dollars lol

Right I always had thick hair my mom never wanted me to get perms until my aunt put one in my hair then my mom started doing them too because she said it was a big help. Then it started breaking my hair off making it thin as ever.. I started going to the Dominicans 2 years ago and been perm free for 4 years now they make my hair so flawless

Flower Child11:11 yes ! I had three bundles and although it was a natural 1B , they do put certain silicons that preserve the color and the shine of the hair , it’s like a coating . Depending on what type of shampoo or hair it is , the chemical takes a while to bleed or the color washes out bc of the hair products . Think of it as you dye your hair black and bc you used a certain shampoo , you dye is bleeding out . It’s really normal . The hair doesn’t get dirty per say , your scalp on the other hand oh Lordy , that’s when you know it’s dirty and time for a wash .

Idc what anybody says, this process has always made my hair grow and i never suffered from heat damage. My blow out would stay good for about 4 to 5 weeks.

@@snoodysnoody8118 for the first week i just use a silk bonnet, after that I wrap it. Its important to mention i relax my hair. Non relaxed it would last about a week less unless its a cooler season. I dont use products everyday either. No flat irons or curlers

I am Dominican and I only go to Dominican beauty salons and they do apply a lot of heat but my natural hair is still beautiful as ever and full of bouncy curls. Just simple ask for a quality heat protector to be used in your hair 🤷🏼♀️

I've been going to Dominicans for years growing up in high school in Brooklyn. I remember having a wash and set done for $15. I was scared when they picked up the sheers 😂 but nonetheless it came out good. Once you took out the rollers you should have put it in a wrap then when you comb it down it'll be all bumped

You can’t wrap that type of texture hair, but ours , you most definitely can. She would have to use hair pins to keep wrap from coming down if she put it in a wrap

I went to a Dominican salon one time and lost half of my hair 😢 I have never experienced so much heat. Now 2 years later my hair has grown back from the bald spots it left. Never again

Try using Jamaican Black Castor Oil with Hemp oil also pure Coconut Oil., Make sure your shampoo and conditioner is Paraben and SLS free.

Yes!!! I’m Latina & have super curly hair & they did the same to me! I had to get ANOTHER big chop after the big chop I had already done a year prior. Usually I’m the Dominican Republic they only do the roller set and then they blow it out, they usually don’t iron it. Now roller sets give so much shine to the hair and the heat is slow with almost no heat damage to the hair.
