Gail I agree there is a Candor that he had and he also had a certain warmth that made us feel like old friends reminiscing with him or listening to some juicy gossip hahaha

I have respect for anyone who owns up to his worst behavior. A dead woman at a drug party. Being responsible for a failed marriage. He is truly one in a million.

It was frustrating to him too because his demeanor changed and he started giving her the shortened-version answers. It seems a bit dismissive of his book and life. Super interesting man... Underwhelming interview because of the short time alloted for the interview.

I wish she had asked him a little bit more about why Elizabeth Taylor said that to him about this being the last film however produce. Did she think he just couldn't handle being a producer anymore or did she feel his luck was running out ...I just wish this interviewer had let him talk a little more. She interrupted him at least twice when he was ready to say something and she totally got him soundtracked..pity

She's a writer and a reader, not an interviewer, even though she's been doing this since 1979. She has limited time and a set of notes and she's trying to squeeze everything in.
@gardensofthegods

@@OMGWTFLOLSMH yeah but even though she was a writer and had limited time , there were several moments when he was giving her some nice gold nuggets of stories and then she completely gets him sidetracked so that he doesn't tell the story
