Dominique is so underrated. A lot of people think he was just a dunker, but let me list the people who have scored 25+ PPG for 10+ consecutive seasons: Allen Iverson Jerry West Shaquille O'Neal Michael Jordan LeBron James Karl Malone Dominique Wilkins

Glad you understand! He was my hero growing up. If you watch just highlights of Nique, or just one or 2 games, he seems like just a showboat player who takes wild shots. But if you watch many of his games, you start to realize that he was a total original player, he had physical gifts that enabled him to play the high intensity and creative style that he brought to the game. He was a true leader, and lead his team with his talent and his heart, that's why Atlanta Fans still love him to this day. Dominique and Iverson are the same in that way, they would both die for the teams they played for and give their lives for the fans. They also both understood that pro basketball is about entertaining the fans and filling seats, which they did every night by leaving their hearts on the floor and playing with an inspiring style that made kids want to play basketball.

@@willieduffie4967 Indeed. Nique made me love this game when I started to watch NBA, and I remeber I used to prefer him over MJ, even when I liked MJ a lot and enjoyed so much his prime in Bulls. Nique was a BEAST, you were specting his out of-this-world dunk every day....Sadly he did suffer a serious injury when playing his most complete basketball and never had a really competitive team (you know, one Scottie Pippen or one James Worthy close to you...), thus maybe he is the most underrated player ever. No doubt if basket business were like today, he would have easily gotten a 200 million contract in a top franchise and had fighted for championships. But he was a one club man, great Nique!!!

Dominique was one of the most athletically gifted and uniquely talented scorers in NBA history. You’re telling me those talents and those abilities would not have translated into today’s embarrassingly soft, rules changes to legislate physicality out of the game type of NBA that we see today? You put him in this era where he has access to everything that these players have access to, where he would have practiced and developed a more consistent three-point shot, and where the rules are set up to make EASIER to score points, he would light these players up as much or more as those “bums” in the 80’s.

'Nique played extra special when Mike was on the court. These guys had one of the best mutually respectful rivalries in sports. This game displays perfectly what it was like to watch a Hawks game. 'Nique was always in 'highlight film' mode. On Saturdays you could tune into ESPN's Sports Center, and he would ALWAYS be there in the "Top Five Plays of the Week" segment.

@@reidos8992 Actually, the jump shot was boring, Dr. J dunk ... then they were okay with it until MJ was doing it and said he didn't have a jump shot. Well he proved them wrong by beating team just with jumpers. The 3pt shot was only needed in those times when you fallen behind. MJ and others was so great at driving to the basket to get a free throw (3pt play) that 3pt shooting wasn't needed. However the NBA has taken away the physical part of the game and hardly call fouls any more. If you drive to the basket and is fouled you probably won't get the call. Zion will bring back the art of post up and the 3pt play ... similar to what Lamar Jackson is doing in the NFL. Physical play will return to the NBA, not like it use to be but it will make that 3tp shot less deadly when teams have to play big men in the post.
