$240? I built a similar all-in-one raspberry laptop for about the same cost using a pelican gun case. Except for I used a 2k 10” display and a decent sized usb power bank to power the whole thing wirelessly. I built it to game using steam link and Parsec.

Pretty much senseless, all the components are soldered so you can't seriously work and experiment with them, complete waste of money, except of the Raspberry Pi everything else cost like one dollar per piece, most things even ways less, don't know how he came to over 260 dollars, except of that he makes hidden advertisement.

I don't think I would recommend buying a starter key with everything already wired up on a single board if you want to learn programming and electronics. I recommend learning to program on a PC then learning the electronics with a "bag of parts" kit. With everything already wired up, you don't really learn how to build circuits. Building circuits is the foundation of electronics. Also, you need to be able to place your peripherals where you need them. E.g. The acoustic ranger on this thing is always pointed at your face.

$350 for that ? pass...how do you think this is even remotely what any user needs? look more like a classroom /education thing. having that many integrated sensors defeated the purpose of the pi. the trim on that case had better be white gold. otherwise the parts breakdown makes this a massive ripoff.

It can be quite intimidating, learning about electronics and programming for unexperienced people. You could put something together for a lot less, but you'll spend dozens of hours figuring out about pull up/down resistors, which sensors work with 3.3 and which with 5 volt, converting voltage, multiplexing, how specific libraries work differently from very similar looking ones. You pay for the lack of headache and tutorials. Or for not having to spend hours helping your kid. And it's a neat portable package they can take to school. I think you are missing the point tbh. (I won't be buying it because I already figured those things out. As a kid I never would have had the patience and given up quickly.) Also... A Chromebook doesn't have GPIO and is a pain to program Arduino with. Weird comparison

Many are suggesting it is for the kids. Nope. Not as a first item. Maybe 3rd or 4th. I can't imagine learning to program on a 7 inch screen. Sure it can be done, but it wouldn't be an enjoyable experience. Especially when a cheap laptop can be had for much less than the cost of this thing. If you wish to get a kid into programming, there are better options. i.e. NXT.

@@PopularWebz Depends. If they specifically want to learn to control hardware, read sensors, make robots, this seems like a good place to start. If they just want to learn programming I would recommend Python personally. Easy enough, yet very powerful.
