Affinity photo is basically photoshop. Its got every feature you'll need and its a one time purchase. Updates are free. Its like $50-60. Stopped using PS cuz of the pricing. Absolutely mad.

For many years there was an unpatched method of getting a free student creative cloud account by submitting a malformed jpg for the ID verification since it was done by an AI the malformed image would mess it up and it would auto approve it. Myself and many of my friends had used this over the years. Seems Adobe no longer offers free creative cloud accounts for EDU like they used to so this method is useless most likely finally. Bummer. I just didn't notice they don't offer free accounts anymore for students

For those who are wondering this is not pirating, the guy didn't cracked Adobe and published it on web, He had to re create it from scratch to match most features provided by Adobe, yeah it looks similar icons and the options ar just same but by no means it's pirating, more like using a knockoff.

Some people are hating on GIMP and I don't know why. It's just a more manual version of Photoshop and its free. I find it incredibly powerful if you know what you're doing. The only downside is there's not non-destructible layers, but they're adding that soon!

@@NotXion Agreed! I don't get people saying it's "hard to learn\use" when I found it no harder to learn and use than when I first started using Photoshop. And the thing I like about GIMP is that it almost never crashes. I don't know how Photoshop is now but when I used it back in the days, I'd come across so many random problems or crashes.

I got gimp a couple of days ago and I love it. It's the only photo editor I ever used. It's not too good in 4k because the icons are small but it works perfectly on my laptop. And a ton of tutorials online on how to use.

I used a really simple website to create logos for stuff, and then a year with me almost mastering it, my school starts to teach us something with the same format, so I think I had an advantage over fellow students. I recently started using photopea for much more advanced stuff, but I occasionally use the first one for simple things like logos or banners.

I can definitely agree for small time use photoshop and all adobe products are an absurd scam but as a professional designer I can guarantee this is nothing close to competing sadly. (Probably because adobe buys all their competitors then hikes the price or discontinues them...)

Yeah this is just suitable for hobby or maybe really basic task. I work in professional 3d modeling and you can't ditch Photoshop at all. Even if for 90% of texturing tasks I mainly rely on Substance Painter/Designer, Photoshop is still needed for a number of auxiliary tasks. No way Photopea can handle batch editing, 32 bit compositing, 360 images editing, proper Smart object management and this kind of production-oriented stuff.. Yeah.. Photopea is quite the same as Photoshop.. of course if you just use it for social media banners/memes or maybe your girlfriend birthday photos, I guess..

@@marcellopaniccia3d741 I work in 3d animation as well. I do think 3d is one of the only places in the design world where you can compete with free software. While I personally prefer C4D and Octane Renderer, Blender is a very viable alternative in the 3D space.

@@Ed19601 gimp does most of what photoshop does, ai features excluded. The reason you say it's crap is because you don't use it. The work flow is different, but you can and will get the same results. Also most people use photoshop for joke tasks you can do on your phone. Pirating is not even worth the disk space for it.

Well... as a person who changed from Photopea to Photoshop, I found out that Photoshop has higher pixel quality on the final image. You can really see the difference if you zoom into the images.

Remember that free stuff is free for a reason. I'm not defending Adobe for it's prizing choices, but just wanting to make a point. Nothing is completely free and it may come at some cost. Free web tools usually keep a copy of what you uploaded for editing. I don't know about you, but I don't want my photos to be kept by anyone other than me.

In my country is legal to pirate anything as long as you don't use it for moneyary purposes, like selling the pirated key, using it to make products that you'll sell and etc, so basically we can pirate pretty much anything and pirating medias, such as games, movies and series is not illegal as long as you don't sell it.

I have photoshop and I sometimes use that website as well for basic use. Just because it opens faster, I have tons of addons 😅

I have a copy of the last buy-to-own version of photoshop; CS6. I don't know how much has changed with photoshop besides cloud storage but I think most of the features remain the same.
