Be prepared! Something as simple as losing water or power for just a couple days can cripple the majority of people. Water is number one. Do not take it for granted. Store as much water as you can. Keep a months supply of food - non perishables.

There are entire villages in Africa using the filter i showed its also the most common style of water filter the entire world over. Respectfully what is your plan to filter water if you had to? genuinely curious you have the floor sir.

Filters are great but you should explore methods for disinfectanting water. My favorite one is solar. Leave water in a transparent container in direct sunlight for 8 to 10 hours and it should be disinfected. Great video.

Would it also be a good idea to boil it after filtering or would it be to time consuming or unnecessary?

Prob a good idea to boil the water first before running it through th filter.

A filter system like this isn't going to remove bacteria, it'll capture some larger viruses but not all of them. Activated charcoal will help with some chemical contaminants. If you're truly on a time crunch and desperate for water, run it through your shirt then boil. You won't get all the dirt/minerals/chemicals out but it'll prevent you from dysentery
