@@Dave_ja_vu it was a maximum fare on that line i think. often It's legal to buy a ticket in a machine to get out of a station, but it might be more expensive than a "real" ticket. And the security guy didn't have the authority to impose fines. So they weren't "caught" basically, there were no inspectors or transport police or whatever on their way

In the UK you usually just have to buy a ticket, only because there's been so many cutbacks that the chance of there not being a ticket office open on the station you came from is quite high, the conductor who checks tickets on the train can also sell you a ticket, they are supposed to fine you but they never do, if you are only going a few stops there's a good chance they won't make it to you in time and you can ride for free.

Really cool that you saw Marines there. Those are the Marines working at the Embassy in Moscow and they were taking their detachment photo in front of the cathedral. Only happens once in a blue moon because we are aren't allowed to wear our uniforms in public without special approval.

Also there are rumors that german motorcyclists managed to get to the bridge over Moskva canal. They just looked around and went back. What is more, some tanks were waiting for a command 3 km north from the monument. They never attacked I am local btw

I once went to the capital of my country and did not know that after you bought your ticket, you had to validate it or something So i just bought the ticket, and me and my friend got "caught". We had to pay 130 Euros per person, which is 160 dollars. So 320 dollars for that mistake. I nearly passed out
