I have always followed an axiom that says form plus function equals essence. Reviewers have form but no substance, thus no essence.

@@AcousticFields I find most of their substance to be between the lines. What they don't say. Many actual reviews come out while reviewing something else and letting slip what they actually thought of the other product.

@@glenncurry3041 How can they tell if the differences they hear are room sound or gear sound.when their rooms are so poorly set up. A simple fix to this is to publish the frequency response of the room so people could evaulate for themselves.

You can't have an ideal anything with a large piece of plastic between the speakers.

what about mixing rooms? there always has to be a desk and monitor inbetween the speakers, can you do some mixing room critiques?

Desks produce reflections. You can test this by placing a towel across it. Make the towel 4" thick.

I don't even see good intentions in these photos. I see idol worship and more attention to visual impact than physics. Isn't the goal to listen to the music without seeing the gear or hearing the room.
