Thank you so much for the video. I was in the same situation and fortunately caught it quite quickly. I have had the Miele vacuum for about 4 years now. I somehow accidentally pushed the blue plastic part down recently and it caused the problem. I would have never noticed how to fix it but your video saved my vacuum.

Thank you so much for your time and effort to post this v useful video! You saved my new Miele after having already ruined my old one but causing a leaky bag, mini fire in motor and fusing the home electrics ( and cursing Miele) As you said, I inadvertently pressed bracket under clip and dust leaked again but saved it in time. This advice does not appear anywhere in Miele manual or website. I was furious as thought I was unlucky and vacuum had design fault. Thanks to you, all is now understood and hopefully will last longer than the old one! Pls press Miele to make this clearer to customers as there must be many who have lost their vacuum to this problem.

Four years later, thank you for this video! I accidentally pushed the blue part down too far, & I couldn't figure out why the bag door wasn't opening.

Hi, thanks a lot for this video. I just got off with the Miele after sales service and then I found your video and that’s exactly what was wrong with my vacuum, just 5 months old. I have cleaned the inside several times so far in order to “see” the problem and see if it persists. Mine wasn’t as bad as the one you showed but I think that the air clean filter got really dirty these few times it was operated with the displaced bag. Do you think I should just replace this or take it in anyway? It wasn’t as dirty as you showed and most dust probably stopped at the filter in front of the motor. In any case thank you very much, I too believe as well that this particular issue with the bracket should be in the users guide!!

🤯 I have been living with this issue for 4 years thinking how inefficient this vacuum is! Also, I think the motor is finally giving in cos of the particles in it. It has a burning smell. Hopefully can have it repaired.

Mine is like that (all dirty inside) and the lid would not close. I have changed all the filters, removed some of the dust inside. Still did not close. I have searched a bit more and some site said to spray furniture cleaner (Pledge) and the lid should close and it did. I have probably saved a whole lot of $$$.

My Emile was doing the same thing was that was my problem pushed the bracket under neath the clips
@ak_mits4 жыл бұрын
I did the same mistake and thought that bag should be under the clips. Now my cleaner vacuumed powder inside all the way to filters engine etc i believe. Inner side of the device is covered with powder. What should I do?
@vacuumwarehouse4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm afraid that machine has to go in for service and get properly cleaned from inside out. If the motor is still alive.
@alunrhys12 жыл бұрын
Good video - exactly the problem I have. But what to do if you've made this mistake and ended up with a vacuum cleaner full of dust? How can you clean it out? I've tried using a damp cloth / tissue, but that just isn't practical. Surely you don't have to throw away an expensive Miele? Surely it must one possible to clean it out after making a mistake like this?
@vacuumwarehouse2 жыл бұрын
Its best to use another vacuum (if you have one) to clean this one out. Mind you, the caveat is if the dirt hasn't found its way into the motor. In that case, we suggest a full service by an authorized dealer near you. They would have to open it up.
@alunrhys12 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that. I haven't been able to clean it out, but the vacuum is now usable. However, I do worry about the dust getting into the motor so when I get the chance I will try to get it cleaned out properly by a dealer. The instruction manuals for appliances such as these really aren't clear enough in my opinion - I just wish I'd looked at a video like this one before I fitted a new bag! I'll know better next time. Cheers!

I got a used Miele S2181 recently. It does not have the dust bag holder. I ordered this bracket but it did not come with a spring. I read that some do need a torsion spring. Does my model S2181 need this spring for the dust bag holder?
@vacuumwarehouse2 жыл бұрын
No, that is fine, You can still use it without the torsion spring as long as the holder is installed properly

This keeps happening to my Miele and my spring loaded bag holder is above the clips as it should be. It’s been so frustrating!!!
@vacuumwarehouse Жыл бұрын
Maybe you need to change the Bag holder. They dont cost much $10-$15 (depending where you are). Take it to a dealer close to you. let them take a look.

This really is a design flaw on these vacuums. These really should be full proof and I have seen full proof designs on Delonghi Vacuums where you just cant go wrong. Also for the cost all vacuums should have HEPA exhaust filters and the premotor filter on the Miele is only single layer so not top of the class either. I have had quite a few of these vacuums in a similar condition due to the bag fitment.

Miele: BAD DESIGN! This happend to me and it's never happened with another canister vacuum. Please fix this!
