1.) Have zero debt. 2.) Have 6-12 months of cash on hand. 3.) Have 15-25% in precious metals buying a little bit at a time and hold on tight for the ride. 4.) Build up a reserve to buy other tangible assets, land, houses. Since 1995 my silver has 4x and my gold at 5.5x. My farmland $1,200 acre to almost $10K. Slow and steady will get you there, do not buy into the 'to the moon' mentality. 5.) You will not get rich with precious metals.

If the dollar fails there will be a short time where you will be rich . In past times with failing currencies its been known people will sell off everything even their homes just to survive.. you will have the power of wealth once people start starving. Go 3-4 days with no food many people will sell their home for few ounces of silver when hungry enough.

Good show, Bald Guy Money and Ron! 👍 Allow me to answer your question why Philharmonics are not very popular; I've done my own research and I believe found 2 common reasons... 1) It has an unusual denomination of 1.5 Euro instead of an even 1 or 2 Euro. Reason 2) It has a smooth edge which is far more associated with generic rounds than sovereign coins, which traditionally have reeded edges. Collectors tend to frown upon both those reasons, which is I why even though I sometimes buy them, I myself treat them like generic rounds, because I know that when time comes to sell them, I won't likely get anymore premium for them as I would generic rounds... Time may change that, but that is where the Austrian Philharmonic currently stands.

The biggest problem with a big stack is selling it. Price of PM's goes up big and many rush to the coin dealer to cash in. Many will close the doors or not cash you out.

Good points.Like your content. I just snagged a few sovereign 1oz silver coins I could afford at a very low premium. They are random but they are silver. Financially I am a slooooooow at stacking but those premiums are motivating right now.

I been buying 5% 6 month CDs if you have a large amount of cash you can make $10K guaranteed return, and then still have your cash when you cash out after the six months so you can make $20,000 in six months for doing nothing. You can use the profit to buy gold and silver.

I concur. Turn your 'mattress money' into 'mattress metal.' You do not purchasing metal! You "convert Fiat into metal." Metal is real money. Have some cash on hand for emergency spending. However, any cash you can call long term savings, should be converted into "money!" BG, you are right, this is a marathon not a sprint! Lastly, when it comes to retirement, the number one goal is to be completely debt free! Your retirement savings and income will go much much farther if you are debt free!! Another fantastic video!!

I've been adding gold to my stack as often as I can to get to an optimal stack of 40-50 :1. But, at what point does the market GSR get to that it would be better to abandon that goal and stack more silver? Currently, the market GSR is ~90:, and I feel like I'm missing out on low silver prices trying to save up to buy more gold.

Any asset can rise and fall in value with time. Thanks to you both and yes please get together more often. One thing I haven’t heard you mention to the audience is for new and old stackers is state tax on precious metals purchases. I live in the biggest and one of the stupidest western states that rob you with a 20% tax under 2 thousand dollars. Due to this high tax on real money I don’t dollar cost average and wait for prices and / or premiums to drop and to make a purchase which always has an influence as to what I do buy. Keep some cash at home in smaller bills. Store some food and water. Make your property as secure as possible within reason. Buy some other items that you can trade with others in case the need arises, like an extra generator. Peace on earth! Good will to all !! Except those who mean us harm. And God Bless America !!!

Good Morning Gents, Great video. I’m mid 50’s, 100% retired and debt free. Currently my holdings in precious metals is 22% of my net worth and I know it’ll go go higher. I currently have a 1/136 ratio and working on correcting that to a 1/60 ratio. Keep up with the good information and analysis.

Ah, I did the opposite. I incorrectly though I should hold onto some money back during October and ended up missing out on a great opportunity that I really wanted to take. I don't just chalk it up to hindsight or playing it safe since after thinking about it more I can see now what I should've seen then. I simply didn't think about it enough, even though I did think about it a lot. Like that illustration of the two miners and both are close but one turned away closed to what would've been the end.

I set specific buy targets on my Patreon - we have nailed some bottoms including the one back in October which means people avoided the higher prices and bought near the bottom. Technical analysis can be helpful in setting targets like that.

Ron/Bald Guy, what about 30% to 35% allocation in precious metals if you are just retiring and have no spouse or kids and have no debt and own no home (rent an apartment) and are holding off on Social Security until age 70. I fear that I have too much allocation in cash, but don't want to buy realestate because it is too expensive to buy and maintain and pay annual property taxes on. Right now I have Mutual Funds/IRA (moderate risk) and U.S. I-series savings bonds at 7% allocation. I have Money Market accounts 5.15% to 5.24% APY at 23% allocation. 5.0% APY, 1-year and 2-year CD's at 21% allocation. I have 7-year MYGA fixed rate 5.45% Annunities at 23% allocation. 24% in precious metals allocation (40:1 silver/gold ratio). And finally, 2% in a checking account, a car that I own outright, firearms/ammunition, golf equipment, collectibles, electronics, and home furnishings.

The one reason why you would want a large part of your assets in precious metals: if your a conscientious/conservative/religious investor. It's becoming increasingly difficult to invest in the traditional stock market these days as more and more companies are doing and promoting things that I vehemently disagree with. Precious metals are one of the few truly neutral options available to people like me. It has thousands of years of history behind it, is recognized and valued the world over and there is no religious faith I'm aware of that shuns it. Yes, I know I won't ever achieve the same returns investing in precious metals as I would the stock market but my conscience is clear. I want to be able to stand before God knowing that I did my best not to partake in these evil companies and their corrupt world system.

We're at a point now where, if you shop around a little, sovereign coins can be had for the same price or pennies more than generic rounds. Good to visit Ron's basement. Good discussion. I have been stacking since I was 16 when the American Silver Eagles was released in 1986. Most of my silver is sovereign and bullion silver. However, I do have a sizable amount of collectible silver coins. My wife wants all the metals to be gone the day before I die because she doesn't want to deal with it. So my plan is to move the stack to be completely govt sovereign coins or bullion to keep it simple and simple to inventory. I hope I'm not dying for many decades but never know. That is a very thoughtful approach to dealing with the PMs end-game, IMO. At age 74, my time horizon is a lot closer than most on here! lol Oh, well. It is what it is. My own silver stack is substantial and consists of nearly a 3-way split among ASEs, Maples, and US 90% silver coins, plus a few 5-oz. SilverTowne bars. I would like to trade the bars, then the Maples, and finally the ASEs for gold if / when the GSR falls below 40:1, as it did in 2011. I would trade in increments of 10% of my tradable silver and would follow the GSR as it falls until all of my tradable silver has been converted into gold OR the GSR starts to rise above 40:1, at which point I will be happy with what I have. The US 90% silver coins will be inherited by my 2 children when the time comes or shared with them for use as barter money if hard times come before then. Well, that's the plan as it now stands but since we don't know what the future holds for us, it can and will be modified as needed when the time comes.

Stay far away from DCA especially if you are paying out for premiums. Watch the market and learn how to read it. Buy on the dips and sell on the highs. Get the LCS/pawn shop out of the equation. I stick to ETF's and don't pay premiums or deal with low balling dealers when I sell. An ETF is just based on numbers. When I see a dip I buy. When I see a spike I sell. Click of a button. I have no interest in being at the mercy of a LCS which doesn't have any rounds on the week I want to buy at a favorable price. Nor do I want to hear about their low cash flow when I go to sell my metal and they can't offer me the best price.

I think DCA is a good simple approach for the average person. I agree that learning how to read technicals and anticipate dips is best - but it’s not for everyone.

Debt is the big one. Get rid of debt (except for the required taxes we all have to pay) and life is easy. Work hard to get rid of it and then relax. It drives me crazy when tax people tell me to get another mortgage so I get a tax write off. Are they crazy? The percentage of net worth in PM's depends on expenses and assets. What can I put away for investing and what is left to put in PM's

I bought at the two lowest points last year, early March and early October. At that time premiums were low. Still I'm a little under water, very little. Too many follow the hype and pay high premiums and price. That leaves a bad taste in their mouth. I've listened to varied video content creators and have come to the conclusion no one knows where silver will go. For instance CPM group's, Jeffrey Christian, was no closer than what my dog could predict. You mentioned "boutique" silver, terrible idea if one expects to make their money back. I agree that dollar cost averaging is not a good idea. Patience is the key and hype is just so much noise.

In the morning of 1-24-2024, I can get a 1 ounce gold bar for $2,090 from Monument Metals. For that same amount, I can get 85 one ounce silver rounds ($24.59/ oz). Bitcoin is at $40,084 so I can get .0521 BTC for $2,090. Personally, I have a hard time buying gold at that price. I’m buying silver and bitcoin.

A rich person is a person without debt. I'm the same as you. You don't need a lot of money to live comfortably if you're debt free. I'm retired and don't make a fortune but still save money every month, month on month. I live live well and will pass my wealth to my children and grandchildren. I worked in finance for a good number of years which was a good teacher as to what not to do concerning debt. Yeah, no debt is an opiate of it's own.

What’s your opinion? Fixed income, let’s say $200/m for metal. If I buy gold, I’m in fractional or grams with high premiums on smaller weights. Do I buy every month or accrue enough for >weight, lower premium, but possibly higher price? What if I have less than that for the month? What would you recommend? 😂please don’t say buy silver😂 I will. Bold has 1oz @.90 over!!! Weight is weight.

I think 85% in metals should be the overall standard. Many will disagree and thats ok but thats where I am at. I have very little trust in anything.

If you’re only 15% -30% “in” for G/S, that tells me that you really do not believe in it but with 15%-30% faith in it. If it is truly good, why not? What are the alternative for the other 70% - 85%? UST’s? Saving accounts? Stocks? Bonds? Just your personal / non-professional opinion, I know you are not an advisor.

Sovereign doesn’t mean crap. Silver is silver and spot is spot.

Philharmonic silver have a smooth edge unlike the milled edges of most sovereign coins. It puts off most American stackers as a generic bullion and less class.

The bank account is the till for bills & unforeseen emergencies. Never go below the needed amounts. The stack is for economic depression and or legacy (which is a smoother transition than a will with accounts & investments). My father’s last wishes were squandered by his lawyer, the estate lawyer, and my brother… one good reason to protect my legacy from grabbing hands.
