@daviddayag2 ай бұрын
Why do you think distance matters?
@Fortepiano72 ай бұрын
@@daviddayaghow is not? If is distance is bigger, the harder see details. So if someone can clearly see sun from backyard and officially is 150 mln km… is not weird? Or maybe sun is not that far?
@daviddayag2 ай бұрын
@@Fortepiano7 I ask again. Why do you think distance make you see less details? Those details are the size of our entire planet
@Fortepiano72 ай бұрын
I got your point, but distance is important because if is closer subject, with same telescope you will get better quality of picture, right? My point is, I am not believe sun is that far… because probably you not think your telescope can see for 150 mln. km. Let me say this way, you see big subject- let say mountains but you can’t see clearly what is there. But with better camera you can… so distance is still matter. How much zoom your telescope have or for how far you can see as telescope advertise?

What filters and telescope did you use? Is sct good for sun observation?
@matthiasstamey3184 Жыл бұрын
I don't think he used that catadioptric for that video of the sun. With telescopes that use mirrors, the sun can bake the reflective coating right off over time, so we have to put solar film over the aperture which only lets a very small amount of white light through. The downside to this is that you can only really see sunspots, the surface detail and granulation visible in the video cannot be seen very well or at all with this method. That footage looks like it was taken with a dedicated solar scope.

@hieratics Жыл бұрын
@daviddayag so that orange coloring is just the filter?
@matthiasstamey3184 Жыл бұрын
@@hieratics Probably color adjustment in post-processing. All wavelengths of light are scattered by the atmosphere, just at different rates. Blue is scattered to an extreme degree, that's why the sky looks blue. Conversely, wavelengths closer to red aren't scattered nearly as much, that's why the sun looks yellowish overhead, and why sunsests look so orange. Because of that, most people process their solar data to look like this, it's familiar and feels natural - that and it's just much more dramatic compared to a white sun.
