Synopsis:
Cheng Shao Shang is a young girl who was forced to grow up alone after most of her family had to leave to fight in a bloody war. Thus she becomes stubborn and untrusting. She fends for herself in a town populated by people like her, who have been left behind by the war.

When he was single, there was hope in her mind. Also in her mind, she was proving that she loves Zisheng too much and much better than NN to blame him. Not to mention there's a thing called selective memory so she doesn't have to recall the Zisheng made it plain that she never had a chance with him from the get or else they'd would've been long married.

@@alwiyaqudsi520 I’m not this way but it’s not him it’s his power they want. He’s the top of the food chain so to her being even a concubine makes her powerful. She was raised to chase power and in the end power destroyed her. He’s hot and powerful so in her mind he is perfect. Plus being part of the emperors family is not in her cards so he’s the next best. I think that’s why he loves cha cha so much you can tell she has no interest and no clue about power she just wants to help.

Exactly....but she was delusional before she encountered him in the north. She had everyone believing that the Empress was going to betroth her to him. The Empress would never betroth anyone to him because of how he responded when the Emperor tried to marry him off to the delusional princess. He went to war in order to avoid marrying her....so the Empress knew betrothing anyone to him would be impossible.

@@gemini8966I agree...you're so right but I'm not sure if she had a moral compass at all....lol She started deceiving herself early on...from the moment she started liking him...she convinced herself/her attendant that the Empress was going to marry her off to Buyi....when in fact the Empress never tried to arrange his marriage because he always rejected every marriage prospect that the Emperor arranged for him. He went to fight in a war to avoid marrying the delusional princess...so she knew right off the bat that Buyi can't and won't be forced to marry anyone...that's why they were so happy when he decided to marry NN. If she was already lying to herself back then...I can only imagine what else she did.

Oddly, if Huo Buyi knew that Jitong murdered her husband, and even knew the method she used, why didn’t he have her arrested while in the Northwest or when she returned to the Capitol? Also, when she ran after him asked him why he wouldn’t accept her, (after exposing her as a murderess,) he told her that he never liked her but why didn’t Huo Buyi also tell her “because I wouldn’t marry a person who murdered their husband?” Anyway….he made it clear, with or without his feelings for Shaoshang, he wasn’t interested. Cold…🥶🥶🥶. LMBO!!!

I needed to find evidence, even though he could've, he just didnt want to bother with her, like with his uncle, he couldn't find evidence to incriminate him, so he decided to kill him instead, cause it was personal to him. But with this Luo person, whatever, maybe if someone wanted to seek justice for her late husband, maybe then.

It's unfortunate that these women think that he's their ticket to a better life...when all he wants is NN. It's hard to feel sorry for them because he made himself crystal clear when he proposed to her. He told everyone that she was the only woman that could stand by his side...and he wouldn't marry anyone else but her. Jitong couldn't accept the truth so she convinced herself that Buyi was going to marry her. It was a lie built on her delusions.

Desperation smells like rotten food. You covet what you can not have even with out her been there but once she arrived he fell hook line and sinker his face on that balcony when it was the lantern festival was all the evidence any of these shrews needed. I have also seen some stupid comments about her age 15 yes it is young in today's society but life expectancy back then was short even shorter if you were in the military so been wed and 15/6 was a common practice everywhere and in some countries still is

Yup...and she's been lying to herself for years. She even had the servants in the palace believing the Empress was going to betroth her to him. Her obsession led to a full on delusion...telling everyone that he's going to marry her. I don't feel bad for her.
