Dude.... I've had automatic Omegas. A Speedy and a few Aqua Terras.... they can be a pain in the arse. Losing up to 10 seconds a day, one actually stopped and i had to service it. I got the Goldeneye quartz and haven't looked back. Its definitely not soulless. They have their own history and incredible technology. And there is a difference between this one and a cheap casio ... the accuracy of this watch has been incredible. Not a single second out after two weeks...it was cheaper to buy, it'll be cheap to service... its so much nicer not having to worry about the watch running out of power over a weekend....i think quartz is clearly not as historic and not as beautiful but they ARE on average more accurate and make for great daily watches... my other great watch is a 5600 g shock that has been in the sea many times, up snowy hills and so on... there is a place for quartz in watch collecting. I still love mechanical watches. And I'll own one again soon enough, but i disagree with your generalisations there P.s. also its lighter and thinner. I'm putting my 2541.80 on a rubber strap and it's light, absolutely on time every day, and the perfect "set and forget watch. There is also one other bonus to the quartz model - there is a "jumping hour " function, so it's a very good travel watch too, for anyone who crosses time zones (e.g. James Bond 😂)

Same here I love the quartz, seamaster I’m a builder and i feel a lot better using the quartz because it has to put up with lots of shocks and vibrations. I feel like true hands on professionals would want to use this version and leave the automatic for the office professionals.

@fakethinksy101 it is brilliant isn't it To be honest with you I've changed to a G shock and my smart watch is an Omega from 1973. I've posted a few videos. Take a look

If you aren't going to wear it everyday, a quartz watch has many benefits. I believe the Prince William midsize Seamaster is quartz. I would guess that at the time his mother assumed he would leave it in his watch box when he grew up and as a quartz model it would always be there for him to grab and go. Little did she know it would remain his daily in her memory. But yes, there aren't many good quartz watches. Rolex made some DJs. Grand Seiko's entry lineup is nice quartz. And yes, Omega has some very affordable ones. That said, Brosanan wears the same watch in automatic in Tomorrow Never Dies, and yes I agree it is more desirable.

The quartz SMP 300 is THE Bond watch. All my mechanical watches over the years (Rolex Sub, Omega coaxial) are nice, but they lose several minutes a month and they give no indication that they are going to need an overhaul, except they get a "little worse" over time. Quartz will give a an exact indication that the battery is low. Do you think James Bond would put up with that?

Right? It’s absolutely stunning, super happy they brought back the wave dial. It’s not a seamaster without the tank tread, Congrats on getting your grail!

"Timing is everything". Omega missed the mark in sealing the deal with the right BOnd actors....Connery or Moorre. They missed the boat. Who's a fan of Brosnan or Craig?? (....silence),..crickets chriping...) Even companies like Hamilton, Breitling...managed Moore...and i don't think they bothered with "Bond theme/assoc watches/packaging". :(nor Rolex wit ht he Submariner)...Omega cheapened the 300m IMHO....by making it look like a kid's watch... Though, I guess there are Bond fans out there who will buy anything connected with th Bond franchise een if the watch was "Brosnan's Bond watch" or Craigs. I'm a huge Bond fan...all for the coneection...but it has to be done right...if anything include a few pages in the manual that mentions this watch was worn by Brosnan in Goldeneye...stop there. Subtle. For people that didn't know. As if Brosnan wore the copy being sold to the public LOL! ...with that cheesy mechanical back of the case...maybe on a Swatch kids Bond fan watch..not an Omega..

Interesting take! In my opinion that wasn’t were omega fell off the boat with their marketing tactics as I think they still did a great job with the marketing of the Aqua Terra’s with Craig. Their marketing took a cliff dive afterwards, they started advertising the most random people like recently Jesse Williams. loved him in greys anatomy but a very puzzling choice as an ambassador in my honest opinion. Clooney at best was already pushing it as an ambassador and we said fine, but lately i have no idea what they’re doing with their image.

@@WatchTWM Watches are pieces designed and made by men and women. They don't have a soul, regardless if they are powered by a spring or by a battery.
